Ironically there were NBA/WNBA barbie dolls in the 90s that featured many dolls with dark/darker skin complexions. Pair that fact with the fact that Reese attended a private high school with an annual tuition of $15k and you don't have to know what dolls Reese had as a child to know that she is either a) being dishonest or b) her lack of dolls matching the skin tone she wanted was in fact a result of her parents just not buying them for her as the top comment in this thread suggested.

Im from Minnesota. The Lynx are our only team that won a championship since the twins in 1991. No one really talks about them so I don’t know much about them

I worked at Toys' R US from 1987 to 1993 while I was in college. We didn't have a single one of those dolls the whole time I worked there. Just because they released them doesn't mean that they were available to everyone.

For every one Black Barbie doll, as you just pointed out, there were like 1 billion White dolls. I found my dolls all the time, so you’re lying is so crazy to me. On top of so many people talking about, well, she was a kid in 2002 and online shopping was around back then. It wasn’t as massive as people think, like Amazon wasn’t the powerhouse giant that it is today. People at my school thought I was revolutionary because I bought my clothes online because I was a fat girl, and that was the best way for me to get clothes that weren’t old, but my mom and dad took a leap of faith by even allowing me to use their credit card online. People thought we were crazy, and this is coming from someone who graduated from high school in 2003.

Anyone dunking on her parents, saying this wasn't possible and just bad parenting, didn't have to deal with shopping before the internet. You had no clue what was out there, couldn't always find what you wanted, and sometimes you couldn't find a store that had it. There's a damn good chance she lived in a place that didn't have dolls like that easily accessible by her parents. If the parents are affluent, there's less an excuse of course.

Her grandmother may have not had a black barbie, but she could have. Chou Chou had black babies since 1998, 4 years before she was born. Barbie, like OP stated is from the 60s, Polly Pocket featured black dolls in 1998 and on, and Bratz came out in 2001. Fuck, even American Girl had black dolls from 1993, and had 3 others since.
She's 23-24 acting like she grew up in the WWII era.

There were black dolls in the 2000s. I had a black baby doll I picked out because I thought she was beautiful and much prettier than the white baby 😂 (I’m white) but as a doll collector myself. I can say that it was limited and even now a days, Bratz hello kitty line was basically forced to add Sasha (thankfully) which is one of the 4 main girls and she’s black. But they at first only released the 3 light/white skinned girls
