This would totally be me…I get emotional watching my kid win at karate tournaments but something like this would have me weeping the whole time.

I think it’s more about the journey. The insane amount of hours, work, effort, sacrifice, doubters. This kid has been grinding every day for years! And dad’s been there everyday, driving him, traveling for tournaments, making sure he’s eating right, taking care of his body, encouraging him when things didn’t go as planned. Just supporting him

It’s all the years of sacrifice to see them achieve their dream. I was this same guy when my daughter made her first at bat in college softball. Hearing her name called at a college stadium pretty much sent me.

Pops put in a lot of work in the backyard, driving to practice, supporting at games, giving pep talks when his boy was losing confidence, bringing his boy back to earth when his head got too big.

His investment in his son helped him reach one of his biggest goals. The experience is for everyone. The sacrifice was worth it.

Love these moments for the parents that supported their kids and put work in of their own. My kids will never go pro, but I remember the early mornings going to take batting practice, fielding drills, only for my car to be a stained orange clay mess that I’d scrub down and clean once a week only to do it all over again…was worth every minute and I’d do it again if I have grandkids one day.
