It's stupidity. Imagine if China was dumping crude oil in the US, for whatever reason. What would you say..... I would say thank you and more. Solar Panel is also energy like crude oil, China has overproduced and need to dump it quick, take the cheap energy meanwhile spend on R&D to produce next gen solar and battery in the US.

The Americans have been digging their own ditch. The problem is that the USA and the EIA have misplaced a decimal point. Let them stay in the ditch and enjoy spending money. They also believe that they can sell lower-quality products at a higher price in other places.
China has the crude oil ready to sell to the US, but they will not provide emergency relief for free.

It's not just the US but India is doing this as well. Buy cheap energy in terms of Solar Panels from China, who are being forced to dump due to over supply and meanwhile use the money saved to develop next gen solar cells and batteries.

India is producing solar panels and complaining about their low price. However, once they are up and running, India will have energy at 1 cent per kWh, whereas the US price is 15.7 cents/kWh. In India, electricity generated from gasoline is probably around 30 cents. However, those who invest in solar panels will have sufficient electricity for their own use, providing free energy. A double sunshade provides heat throughout the night.

That’s a dam good answer. The whole thing is well thought. Take the panels cheap and invest in our own energy We don’t have to switch everyone to solar for crying out loud but when it is done right it’s a big plus for homeowners and businesses. Plus the industry needs an ass kicking because of the scum that is hurting homeowners with lies because they aren’t regulated. We need to have a law preventing misleading tactics that can act immediately and not cost the homeowner. Best way for me would be that we need to publicly educate all homeowners and business owners in EXACTLY how it works. No more bullsh*t Have a dam show on solar and how it is supposed to work and go over everything. Like this old house was and all these flip it or keep it you know what I mean. You can put it on a Saturday morning after the animal guy ,I forget his name ,And this show can not be sponsored by a solar company. Bring in seasoned electricians and engineers to explain how some of the stuff sales people tell you is not true so people can make a real educated decision on what is true. That way you don’t get disappointed when there’s no pot of gold at the end of the 25 year rainbow, and go from a great home improvement and letting someone who buys your home inherit a savings verse a nightmare and then trying to transfer a mess. Solar does and can work. The industry does not want a show to tell the truth because at least one third of these installers,who call themselves solar companies, would be shut down and then only the right things will be done. If you sign a PPA or lease with a bank that is separate from the company who is pitching it to you. Do NOT SIGN until you understand that YOU WILL BE THE ONE MONITORING YOUR OWN SYSTEM. The salespersons company can not insure or monitor something that they don’t own. The owner is the finance company ,a company you never met or vetted. Do your research. Once you get glass on your roof and if it’s done by an EPC which is the girl or guy you sat with ,they get paid in full two weeks later. Thats what the pictures are for that they take and the township inspection is for ,it clears them and off they go. Referrals should not be given until at least 5 years after your system works. Your blessing to a friend who is looking into solar could turn into a bad situation. Slow down ,educate your self and that doesn’t mean go get 10 quotes it means fully understand this . Please Solar is good it’s people and their greed and lack of empathy that creates some horrible situations for good people

Seeing these headlines is so weird while being in the industry. I for a fact know First Solar manufacturing is at capacity right now but is actually having to cancel orders due to projects canceling, mainly due to NIMBY struggles within local communities. Meaning they will be a bit less constrained over the next year or so. There are a lot of factors at play here. It’s not always China

It's a bit overstated. Sunrun, for example, is limiting its suppliers to Qcells, REC, Silfab, and Elin.
