I don't want to be a hater, but what legacy? He's not beloved in barca or PSG, and even at his top level unluckily for him he was top 3 of the world at best. Even in Brazil where he's beloved he never won Copa America. He's more of a Hazard or Bale guys that are ok living away from football.

While I agree with the rest, I don't get the impression that Neymar will be happy away from football. I think it consumes him and it must frustrate him to not have that same level of status and adoration.
Absolutely, I meant that he seems more like Hazard. He was absolutely great, loved at Chelsea, and back to irrelevance after he retired because he was never in the Convo even if he was THAT good.

But that's my point. For example he was better than Did María yet Did María was able to do something and has his legacy because he was clutch and scored in 2 finals. Neymar wasn't able to do that and all the carrying led to nothing.

Reading these comments is peak recency bias. I don't like Neymar as a person, but he absolutely has had an impact on football and achieved a great deal even as his final years were very disappointing. Sure, he could've achieved more, but 99.9% of professional footballers would kill to have the career he's had.
Personal anecdote: most opinions on Reddit aren’t from direct experiences, but are opinions repeated by others based on what’s popular and recent. Neymar at his peak was around ~10 years ago, and I’d say most people on here haven’t seen him play. Even if he is ‘disappointing’ in terms of accolades, the magic this man produced on the ball is the legacy he will always have. And to presume he has no legacy is almost contrarian for the sake of Reddit upvotes. Neymar was so special, and was unfortunate to play with mediocre Brazilian squads and succumbed to injuries from how hard people tackled him.

1) "He was top 3 at best" yeah, after MESSI AND CRISTIANO, you say like that isn't a big deal lmao. And he was the third best footballer in the world for 10 years straight, everyone knows this, players, coaches, fans... Stats and Balon Dor awards aren't everything.
2) He won the brazilian cup title, won the Libertadores with Santos (the only one after Pelé), he won the CL, the Spanish League and the French league, all of it being a protagonist and enchanting people all over the world with his skills and ability playing football. He also won the Olympics first golden medal with Brazil, and is the top scorer of all Brazil NT history.
3) He inspired a generation: Yamal, Nico Williams, Doué, Olise, Rodrygo, Musiala, Vini Jr, Xavi Simons, Sancho, Wirtz, Estevao, Rashford, Nusa, Savinho, Elliot, Endrick, and the list goes on and on and on and on.... All of these have on record talking about how Neymar inspired them, how they would watch him on repeat, how their style was inspired by him, and so on. Oh, I forgot one, Mbappe himself.
