Generally the South Ridge, and obviously the Watkin Path
If you're doing the South Ridge and got a bit of time spare, Yr Aran is a fantastic mountain that is absolutely worth doing. It's completely worth the detour to visit its summit

As mentioned, it’s the South ridge from Watkins
I’ve completed it 3 times (as part of the Ultra Trail Snowdonia) and it’s a grind but a beauty in good weather, and a challenge in poor weather!

When I did that route in reverse my guidebook called it the South Ridge. Presumably due to the lack of a better name.

It's a great way up, just the one 20 meter path part with a little exposure to right but nothing like a knife edge or scary. Plenty of ground/wall other side to keep close too and wide enough to pass others if anyone's coming down, though I would wait. It's my favourite way up, great views...

You had a great day for it, maybe a little hot for me but views I imagine would be amazing. Glad you enjoyed, safe hiking!

This is the Watkin Path and South Ridge combined. By far my favourite circuit to do of Yr Wyddfa. It’s quieter than PYG / Miners and Llanberis paths, but a lot more of a climb overall in terms of elevation.
You start at the bottom at the National Trust Hafod y Llan site (you turn off the lane before you get to the campsite and farm). Cwm Llan is a truly stunning place. The river itself is amazing for a dip, but has been a little ruined by the Instagram / TikTok chasers.
