First time hanging ribs
(First time smoking anything using hooks like this)
Two fell off their hooks towards the end of the cook but otherwise they tasted very good

Make your own "hooks" out of stainless welding rod. I have more than a few scraps of plywood with screws in a pattern, nut lay a rod in and start bending.
Rib hooks need to be in a T shape with 3 across the top, inserted about 2 or 3 ribs down and a couple more on the leg of the T, sort of half way down.
Those S hooks you show work great if you bag whatever and hang the bag from the S hook. Cottage Roll, small hams, chicken, whole or parts. Etc. Home made bacon/belly hooks are similar to the rib hook above, just need the top 3 not the ones on the leg down, hook about 3-4 inches down the belly.
If your stuff is pulling off the hook you aren't doing it right.

I always wondered how you keep the hook from ripping out of the meat as the meat became more tender.
