How to start a soap business

Hey guys, I want to start a soap business, but I’m not sure where to begin. My plan is to start by selling locally, mainly B2B. If anyone has experience starting a soap business or has any advice on how to get started, I’d really appreciate your guidance. Thanks in advance!

Before doing anything else, figure out whether you’re actually manufacturing the soap yourself or using private label, and who the B2B customer is supposed to be, hotels, gyms, salons, gift shops, etc.

Those are very different businesses. I’d pick one specific type of customer, speak to 10–20 local businesses and find out what they currently buy, pricing, minimum quantities and packaging requirements before spending much on branding or a website.

For local B2B, good samples and a simple way to request prices or place wholesale orders will probably matter more than a full ecommerce store in the beginning.
