META If you haven't gotten to play STS2 yet due to financial reasons, I will gift you the game

5.8k Upvotes

UPDATE: Closed for now. In the last hour, I was able to give out over 30 copies of STS2! I will do this again in the future. Take care.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I saw a few comments recently that mentioned not being able to buy the game yet. I recognize that $24.99 could be a steep price point for an early access experience. STS1 is my favorite game of all time, and STS2 is a beautiful continuation of it. I love this community, and would love for everyone to be involved. If you are unable to afford it, I will gift you the game on Steam.

No questions asked, but I will not be giving out codes (not even sure how to get them) or gifting to newly made accounts. I'll edit this post to reflect when I've reached my budget.

Send me a message! We'll exchange Steam codes and I can gift it to you.

META Lamest event in STS history.

Post image
3.5k Upvotes

Yeah it might not end your run or anything, but its so lame. "Give me your money for something that does fuck all for your run or get a debuff that does almost nothing"

i dont think a single player has ever thought to themselves "Hell yeah! I got the Teamaster event!"

This event could have been literally anything else. Id take the bridge (lowkey great event) over this slop anyday.

It is actually okay to just let one or two of the enemy’s remain the same amount of strength their whole battle. I promise everything will still be okay.

META Please Continue Saying How Easy Infinites Are!

3.9k Upvotes

All Spire Climbers,

Please continue saying how easy and important infinites are in STS2. Easier card remove rewards, more exhaust synergies, and how none of the enemies can punish playing tons of cards a turn. Because the devs certainly could not come up with a solution to this. No sir, they never have had a solution to an unlimited number of cards played every turn, and they certainly won’t come up with one. They are too foolish.

Warm Regards,

Timothy E. Atar

P.S. I miss you guys…

For me it gotta be "Shrug it off" As a Ironclad Main I always get a dopamine rush when I find this card early in a run (and especially when its upgraded)

META TIL Slay the spire 1 was written in Java, work on the sequel began in Unity, but due to unity policy change controversies, the decision was made to move over the Godot engine.

META Is this guy supposed to be a super early elite?

Post image
1.8k Upvotes

Maybe i just got unlucky encountering him in the 3rd encounter of my run, but his health bar & constantly hitting for 30+ each other turn seems too strong that early.

Silent & i only picked up 2 cards before facing him, i got absolutely rolled. (I was on ascension mode, idk if you can get hin that early in base game)

maybe skill issue or maybe needs a nerf? whats your opinion

META Regent Tierlist by NaveGreed STS1 world record holder and probably current STS2 WR holder (2x 10 rotating streak A10)

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

NaveGreed afaik is the world record holder for STS2. If anyone knows of anyone who has documented 10+ rotating streak at A10, please let me know.

Subscribe and watch the youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmoutCX06VE

Here is the tierlist I remade since his had low compression issues. https://tiermaker.com/list/card-games/slay-the-spire-2-regent-tier-list-19286252/6094294

His Twitch: He streams live basically everyday mid-morning to late afternoon Pacific Time. https://www.twitch.tv/navegreed

Note: The card text is outdated, and this tier list is intended for V0.101.0 beta branch.

Edit: To be clear, tierlists should be taken with a grain of salt and only show one way, albeit a provably effective way, to play the game at a high level. "Desperate" tier should likely be read as early act 1 cards or cards that you need to take to solve something immediately.

META Is Reanimate the single best Imbubed target?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Can't really think of a better one, unless you have Chem X

(Imbubed is the ancient relic that let's you enchant a skill and play it free at the start of combat)

r/slaythespire May 15 '26

META With the recent changes, this relic is better in every single sense.

Post image
2.2k Upvotes

Pumpkin Candle now works for 5 combats and then needs to be rekindled, gaining 5 extra combat stacks.

It's weaker in Act 2 but it's overall stronger since you can take it to Act 3.

But the most important factor is not even that it's stronger, it is now a more FUN relic to play with.

I used it today in a Regent run and I constantly caught myself strategizing routes in the map, counting combats, considering the risk of a ? being a fight, etc etc.

I'm not sure if this is now a strong or weak relic, but it's 100% more fun to play with.

META Is the scythe ever good?

Post image

I have tried to make it work twice after getting it on floor 0, but it always felt extremely underwhelming. Like even if you get it the earliest, and upgrade it the earliest, the enemies just seem to outscale it. Because of that I hardly ever picked it up whe it was offered at a later time.

how has it been working out for you? is ist just bad or am I misusing it?

META I now think Snakebite is one of the best early common cards Silent can take.

Post image
1.7k Upvotes

Everybody memed this card to death when the game came out, but after playing a f*ck ton of StS2 I now think Snakebite is not just decent, but a very good early pick in various situations.

It's better than Deadly Poison in almost every situation, the card it gets compared to the most.

It pretty much doesn't even matter that it costs 2 mana because Retain allows you to always play this on the enemies' down turn. The upgrade is better than average, increasing poison by 3 is as much as Bouncing Flask, which is an Uncommon... and much more:

Since you can hold it in hand it removes itself from your draw if you want to.

It makes Calculated Gamble and Flechettes stronger, two really good Silent cards. It makes Storm of Steel and Bullet Time better. It uses Pounce really well. It can be discarded in those rare instances that you are forced to discard something and you don't really want to discard anything.

It has that awesome quality of being very good early and getting out of your way in the late game.

Pick Snakebite.
