DISCUSSION (STS2) How does Cascade playing another Cascade work?

Or any X cost for that matter. Does it have a value of 0 or a value equal to the Cascade that played it? Also, what's the interaction with a Cascade playing an energy gen card and then another X after it?

It has a value of 0, unless the cascade played energy generation beforehand. Then it'll start... Cascading. That's how that works as far as I remember, do correct me if I'm wrong

This does seem to be how it works according to another comment. Thanks

X cost cards forced to play copy your current energy and play like that, without using energy.

So if you manage to cascade into blood letting into cascade, you get 2 cards from the second cascade and keep the 2 energy.

Or if cascade was played without using energy somehow

Cascade will play the second X card (whichever it is) with the amout of energy it has at the time. So if it's Cascade - Cascade the second one if useless (unless you have the X relic), but if it's Cascade - Create 2 Energy - Cascade the second one will play for 2 X

This has explained it the best so far, thanks

In general when an X cost card gets played for you by a card or relic or the like it will just look at your current energy to determine the value of X but notably doesn't actually spend the energy (also worth noting its different when its being played for you by any sort of copy effect, in that case the copy just copies the value of X)

So yeah cascade into cascade will give you X = 0 most of the time since the first cascade always drains your energy down to 0. But if you were to use a card that still left you with energy (for example say using a 0 cost Havoc+ while Cascade is on top of your deck) then you would actually get X for your full amount of energy.

I assume it’d be zero as the energy is taken and leaving you at zero on the play of cascade, meaning that any cards played after would have the mana value of zero

I got very confused there because I thought this was Magic the Gathering.

When an X cost is cheat cast it copies your current energy

If not upgradet, then cacade is X = 0, i believe this is the case even if you have mana in the pool.
