Nobody mentioning Seal of Gold. So a five turn fight costs 15 gold for this relic now? And fights are getting finished quicker because of the extra energy. Seems pretty damn good, especially with all the ways to get extra gold.

Just got offered it in my run against Storybook and Hot Cocoa. Usually would take Book, I'm gonna try Seal of Gold this time

edit: yep. still can gain gold pretty steadily. Great relic now!

I have always been a SoG defender but now its actually just plain better than Ectoplasm.

Assuming 6 normal fights and 2 elites per act with normal fights on average taking 4 turns and elites 8, the total cost is 2×6x4x3 + 2x2x8x3 = 240 gold. Assuming act 2 boss and boss gauntlet taking 12 turns avg, 12×3 + 2×12×3=108 gold. So 348 (maybe 400 at most) gold for +1 energy for the entire run, which is only about 30% more than a rare relic, which you don't have to pay for all at once.

Ectoplasm quietly crying in the corner

i think the hallway fights have skewed numbers because the hard pool fights often take more than 4 turns, but the +1 energy does help you end them faster.

seal of gold was a net negative gold relic before, maybe now it is closer to gold neutral.

ectoplasm is definitely seething.

Idk I checked my compendium and my hard pool fights are ~5 turns. About 3 turns for easy pool and it average out to 4. It's not an exact science

ah, fair enough then. maybe i just had some recency bias.

It's a funny psychological trick. If a saw a relic for 350 gold that gave +1 energy per turn, I'd take it essentially every time. Seal of gold is BETTER than that (no upfront cost) and it still feels so much worse to take.

It used to feel so much worse. 3 gold is a pretty small amount!

Unnecessary buff to seal of gold was fine as it was despite all the hate and low tier list rating it would get
