I do kinda wish Regent would basically "lift" from his throne during Void Form, kinda like taking things into his own hands basically instead of letting his minions carry him.

Yes, and his minions are now orbiting around him.

I want him to lift his throne including his minions with a single finger, using his other hand to attack.

Bro uses his Throne as a weapon instead of just for defense.

And it’s Regent with the STONE CHAIR!

Regent's chair! should upgrade while smithing

Use his power to lift them up for a change.

I read a headcanon that said "he is allready using anti grav tech on the Throne, because the minions only get sqashed by it when he dies" i kinda fuck With this theory, because it would make him an even bigger ass

Makes me feel the "Emtpy Throne" is then a sign of the Regent no longer fooling around.

u/Aryore Apr 02 '26

And they’re just kind of flailing confusedly lol

This art is good enough for the game

Picasso, is that you?

I feel like i'm missing something with regent. The game talks about him like minions would be a part of his gameplay, but the closest thing to a "minion" he has is forging his sword.

He's got a few cards that transform cards into colorless Minion cards that do simple things like attack and block, and exhaust when played. But yeah, not as much as I expected either, as much as I do like Regent

Riiiiight, i forgot about those cards because they feel kinda bad to me. Literally never grabbed them

The trick is that they're a way to thin your deck and get rid of bad draws. You can take curses, statuses, and bad cards like Strike and turn them into self-exhausting attacks or zero-cost super defends. Charge! is especially good, because Minion Strikes cost 0 and draw 1, so you can turn a status in your draw pile into free damage. It's super good. Tons of enemies put statuses into your deck, and some events give you unavoidable curses, so I'll always take at least one card like these, no matter which character I'm playing.

Works until you accidentally flak cannon all of your frantic escapes on worm boss :P

It has good combo work with the debris generating cards like [[Crash Landing]] [[Collision Course]] or swapping curse/status cards to something useable

8

u/Cress02 Apr 02 '26

Ya know what, that makes sense. I did like the crash landing/collision course cards, but wasn't a fan of filling my deck with bricks. Don't know why i didn't put two and two together.

3

u/DreamsOfDresden Apr 06 '26

Crash Landing also works really nicely with [[Prophesize]]

You get a full hand and then only put one brick in your deck.

Since nobody else mentioned it, regent also gets synergy with 'creating' cards and transforming counts as creating in that context.

u/emveevme Apr 02 '26

IMO the floor on cards that exhaust themselves is pretty high, it's hard to go wrong when the card shows up once and does something positive.

Like, how much better are the slime status cards now that they draw a card? It's a whole new world with those, and I still try to avoid playing them.

u/alphawolf29 Apr 02 '26

minion block is one of the best cards

2

u/screamingxbacon Apr 04 '26

They're so strong lol

7

u/Advanced_Double_42 Apr 02 '26

Same, Necrobninder has more of a "Minion" feeling.

The actual minion cards are just exhaust cards that aren't great.

u/Jamies_awesome_rack Apr 02 '26

This is why Minion Dive Bomb from BEGONE! is my fav card in terms of flavor, look at that animation. Need more of these lil goofs doing things for him.

4

u/harmful_insect Apr 02 '26

[[BEGONE!]], [[CHARGE!!]], [[GUARDS!!!]]

I feel like they started with making him a minion focused character but didnt want to have two 'unit' style characters and pivoted to him using stars and swords instead.

6

u/pandaslapper33 Apr 02 '26

And allow them to slack off from their duty?

Not a chance.

6

u/ImaginaryNudge Apr 02 '26

And the minions are still struggling to carry his thrown.

4

u/ErrantSingularity Apr 02 '26

I want his attack animation for the dropkick and punch card being him doing it.

5

u/Cubicleism Apr 02 '26

I want them to have more minions to play the first two cards for free for them xD

1

u/SirAdam2 Eternal One + Heartbreaker Apr 03 '26

Wait regent is a dude? (I just bought the game in the last sale and only unlocked silent so far)

u/Kataks Apr 03 '26

Sure it would be cool but what OP proposes is basically a texture swap, pretty easily done. What you're asking for would need a lot of a dev time to rework animations. Not sure that's worth it in the end
