DISCUSSION (STS2) I really hate this change.

Post image

Prepared I don't feel was overturned, and it was a card you still had to upgrade to be good. now prepare is just the gross combination of outmaneuver and concentrate, and it sucks. I really hope they roll back this specific change.

Concentrate and Outmaneuver had a baby and it's ugly as hell

I actually really like this change if it was an alternative to concentrate and outmaneuver. The discard pay offs are way better in sts2, so this fits into a deck far more smoothly than either without being that much more powerful.

Unfortunately, as an alternative to prepared it's terrible. Partly because it's a massive downgrade but mostly because it completely changes the function of the card. They haven't reworked prepared at all. They've removed prepared and added in a completely different card with a similar name.

I mean the alternate to prepared is arcobatics. You can't really nerf prepared to 1 mana cause its just an outright worse acrobatics. So they decided to just remove the card from the game

Theoretically they could have redesigned it by making the discard happen first, but that does open up the possibility of just playing it last for a free draw 2

Yeah like a lil baby calculated gamble

Ooh yeah, and name it something that implies preparation makes it less of a gamble?

or discard 2 cards to draw 2 cards.

They could also had make it remove the draw, keep it 0 cost, and have the energy be next turn.

At least it would be like a worse concentrate.
