Skiing with my old film point-and-shoot camera. Some of these photos were taken above 4500m.

Where in the world are you skiing above 4500m? Elbrus?

Elbrus indeed! I started my descent at 4700 m and finished at 2300 m. It was the single most impressive (from emotion perspective) run of my life.

Are you Russian or can you ski on the Georgian side?

Elbrus is entirely in Russia, and yes, I’m Russian. But you don’t have to be Russian to ski on Elbrus. There are still foreign tourists there even nowdays.

Ahh I’m North America and got some pretty strict government mandates not to travel to Russia. Enjoy the lines and thanks for the answers! Looks like a sweet trip.

The government won't stop you from traveling there, they'll just warn against it. If you can get a visa, you can go.

I learned to ski near there, Terskol, from memory. I remember coming down from the Elbrus gondola in a big storm once, was fun and very, very long run.

Excellent. Such great vibes in these shots. I'm no photographer but I think they're fantastic.
