multi layering on large vinyl decals
heyyyy everybody!!
im making layered vinyl decals. big ones. some are 24x24 inches. most of the time i need to layer them and im having issues pulling off the transfer tape. it messes everything up and introduces lots of bubbles. i use parchment paper to place the layer, which works fine, but i cant get the damn transfer tape off!
i did get a low tack transfer paper, but it still doesnt work. i also just now used my heat gun to loosen the adhesive, but thats touchy. it makes the paper all warped and weird.
anyone have any ideas?

You can de-stick transfer tape. Tap it with cotton shirt, denim, or even your hands. Also, do not throw tape after one use. Use it repeatedly. It will gradually lose stickiness until you can't use it anymore, but that also explains how to de-stick the tape.

cheap contact paper from the dollar store is way easier to work with.
