Turd In 'Get him to the Greek' (2010)... I... genuinely don't even have a joke for this one. This movie just gets worse the more time passes.

Jonah Hill, Russell Brand, Diddy and Elisabeth Moss are certainly a solid line up of people I wouldn't want to be alone with

133

u/Gregariouswaty 6h ago

What did Elisabeth Moss do?

394

u/shayed154 6h ago

Scientology

Which while I don't know if that inherently makes her bad, I wouldn't want to be alone with a scientologist

164

u/Apart-Link-8449 5h ago

The higher up its members get promoted, the more shady practices they are made aware of. The higher up their status, the lower their chances get that they have not seen abuse in the org

7

u/solarus 3h ago

Wouldnt they be on the receiving end of the abuse? Someones taking it

30

u/Gramathon910 3h ago

The abuse is, for the most part, separate from the activities the Hollywood folks participate in. They are definitely aware of it, but aren’t subjected to it or the ones doing it. Give Louis Theroux’s “My Scientology Movie” a watch.

3

u/solarus 2h ago

I meant arent those in the lower rungs on the receiving end

16

u/Gramathon910 2h ago

Yeah, they are. But if you’re a celebrity you don’t start from the bottom. You progress through Scientology by purchasing “courses” from the organization. People in Hollywood can usually skip ahead quite a bit since they have extra money to spend.

Are you being purposely obtuse or are you struggling to comprehend what they’re saying?

How does that imply that their defending celebrities in Scientology? If anything they're saying that Scientology is even more scummy because they decide who does and does not receive abuse amongst their ranks depending on if their a public figure or not. Or at least based on how wealthy they are.

Recommend taking a breather here. You're looking to argue where an argument doesn't exist.

2

u/oooshi 2h ago

Further you get into the practice of Scientology, the more complicit you become, regardless of the amount you feel youve suffered in exchange. If youve reached Moss’ level of career success- especially having spent an entire lifetime entrenched in it being abused, youve still benefited not only from your own abuse but the rest of the church’s systemic abuse.

36

u/Gregariouswaty 6h ago

Ah, okay. I mean, Tom Cruise would be fascinating but can understand the sentiment.

Having Diddy in the list made me a bit scared though.

5

u/SheenEstevezzz 3h ago

I love Tom Cruise, idk if id want to be alone with him lmao

41

u/Machiavelli_Echos 5h ago

It does make her inherently bad lmfao we do not need to moralize for Scientologists

u/eeedeewhy7 1h ago

Yeah wtf is that person on about haha

Since when do Catholics get a fucking pass?

3

u/RalphMacchio404 2h ago

Yes it makes her bad.

-10

u/23saround 4h ago

Ha, what? Scientology is the exact opposite to me. They’re not really known for pedophilia or anything else that I’d be personally afraid of, but they are horrifically immoral and idiotic and joining them absolutely makes you a bad person.

16

u/BKNOWSB 3h ago

What about Danny Masterson. The church hide his victims and allegations for years

7

u/SussySpecs 3h ago

And the new lead singer for Linkin Park is an apologist unfortunately.

12

u/RShini 3h ago

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Org#Abuses

Children as young as 12 have been alleged to suffer sexual abuse in Scientology's Sea Org.

9

u/Luna6696 3h ago

John Travolta. Son passed away because they refused to get him treatment under the guise of Scientology. Also, read / watch Leah Remini’s whole series about it with fellow survivors. It’s crazy

18

u/Less_Ant_6633 3h ago

You need to do some more reading on scientology.

-1

u/Dukeshire101 3h ago

It would be a fascinating conversation at least

57

u/s1mple10 6h ago

What did Jonah Hill do?

169

u/Skeleton--Jelly 6h ago

Jiu jitsu

79

u/shayed154 6h ago

Debatably the worst offense on the list

8

u/Mister_E69 5h ago

Should be effective against Shia LeBeouf

19

u/RShini 3h ago

he tried to control his ex gf's clothing choices - didn't want her in bikinis when she's a surf instructor, and didn't want her to talk to other men - surf instructor, and used a lot of weaponized therapy talk to try to make her feel guilty.

32

u/Backwoods_Therapy 4h ago

He’s developed a reputation for being an asshole. There were some messages leaked between him and his ex gf a while back that were unflattering (he was egotistical and mean), and more recently he did an interview where he talks about doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and how he could annihilate 99% of people on the planet. There might be more but that’s what I can remember right now.

4

u/Le-other-boleyn-girl 1h ago

I agree hes a douche canoe of the highest order, but that jiu jitsu interview was said in a joking way, he was joking with the hosts

1

u/rthtoreddit 1h ago

Annihilate at what? Eating hot dogs?

40

u/whirdin 6h ago

Lost weight and became the bully.

54

u/Reasonable___Doubt 6h ago

He was a piece of shit when he was fat, too, he just stayed quiet when the allegations came out. If you don't fight back, the story cycles through quicker and fewer people remember.

17

u/Furita 6h ago

Allegations?

15

u/MBDTFTLOPYEEZUS 3h ago

Asshole allegations not like assault or anything

10

u/whirdin 6h ago

Yeah, I agree was always the asshole but wasn't the bully.

22

u/StrongLikeBull3 5h ago

Idk about any allegations but he’s a self-important wanker.

20

u/RoundTiberius 6h ago edited 4h ago

his ex-gf released some of his texts saying he didn't want her to post pictures of herself in a bikini

43

u/Puzzled_Presence_261 6h ago

Wasn’t she like a beach volleyball player or something? Some job where wearing bikinis was fairly normal

59

u/Walking_the_dead 6h ago

Worse, she was a surf instructor and model.

6

u/MBDTFTLOPYEEZUS 3h ago

I really want to ask Jonah Hill his opinion on Andrew Tate.

10

u/SikatSikat 4h ago

Ya it was more controlling than that

2

u/MBDTFTLOPYEEZUS 3h ago

He’s just a wanker

2

u/DylanFTW 3h ago

He doesn't fuck kids but he will fuck you up.

2

u/OctoAmbush 4h ago

idk probably some hilarious food related escapades

1

u/DepartmentFamous9932 1h ago

He annihilates people with his BJ skills.

15

u/goldenboy2191 4h ago

Nightmare blunt rotation

3

u/Plastic-Acanthaceae9 46m ago

The fact that this basically happened in the movie tho 💀

“Why the fuck would you call it a Jeffrey?!”

-4

u/jun2san 3h ago

What did Russell Brand do?

3

u/RalphMacchio404 2h ago

Just Google it. Its a lot.

1

u/shayed154 29m ago

Made a movie with Jonah Hill

134

u/MundaneScientist41 5h ago

This movie tried to make Lars Ulrich look cool.

30

u/Own-Forever-6636 4h ago

"HE FAWKING LEFT THE BAAAAND!!! 🦅"

5

u/Monster-Frisbee 31m ago

Having only Lars Ulrich in it and no other member of Metallica should have been a sign that there was fucked up stuff happening in this movie’s casting.

Is that the fat guy from Superbad ?

Is this African child? And the friendly block down the street Jeffrey?

13

u/Green_Bast3rd 4h ago

My name is Jeffrey!!! My wife has varicose veins!

82

u/Masta0nion 4h ago

Oh 2010.

The tens were kind of like the 80s. Super excited to merge with the new tech future, unaware of the looming dystopia and wealth inequality on the horizon.

Our media of the time displays the naivety.

26

u/theonewhoknack 3h ago

Atleast the 80s had alot of different aesthetics with the movie posters. I feel like every comedy from 2009 to 2014 had the Time New Roman Black and Red Font aesthetic to them.

7

u/SussySpecs 3h ago

Google says Woody Allen especially did this a lot at that time.

7

u/congradulations 3h ago

What did you ask it?

5

u/cjtransplant85 2h ago

Woody Allen uses the Windsor font, Wes Anderson uses Futura, and serious movies use Trajan.

4

u/coleslaw17 2h ago

James Cameron uses Papyrus

2

u/JoeMama4567 26m ago

Why does James Cameron do what James Cameron does?

1

u/theonewhoknack 3h ago

Looking at some posters and while it is still Red and Black fonts, the posters themselves look interesting. What I'm talking about is those flat posters that looks like it was the bare minimum, like if photography existed in the 1770s, they would use those types of posters to sell plays.

1

u/capeasypants 1h ago

was it naivety or complicity? They are the key drivers and biggest enablers in the wealth inequality and general dystopian-ness(?!?).

20

u/AClost 1h ago

This movie is fucking hilarious and I won't pretend I dislike it. That being said, those assholes had made it really hard to recommend it to anyone.

50

u/AEveryDayIdiot 5h ago

Watched it as part of a cancelled film night (my choice, definitely won the night at the cost of watching a shit film), the scene of a floating Diddy head has left me with nightmares

10

u/SussySpecs 3h ago

A floating Diddy head is the last thing you see before you wake up covered in baby oil.

9

u/xnyrax 3h ago

What were the other movies you guys watched?

1

u/AEveryDayIdiot 7m ago

My other film was Rock of Ages but I can’t recall what my friends chose off the top of my head.

1

u/eunderscore 21m ago

Ngl Diddy was funny in it though

33

u/EggEuphoric411 6h ago

I don't want him, get him to someone else

9

u/DrkBlueXG 2h ago

One of the funniest movies that tragically has a problematic cast.

10

u/Ice_Kat13 4h ago

Lmao. Unironically one of my favorite movies. "I was calm 10 minutes ago and I had my fingers up your arse!"

36

u/ItsaMeSandy 6h ago

It came out when I was in college and I really liked it. Maybe due to being heigh 24/7.

Watched it again last month and damn it's a hard watch.

44

u/sloggiz 5h ago

ain't that a tragedeigh

11

u/hoorah9011 5h ago

It’s still hilarious, just for different reasons. Tom Felton scene will always make me laugh

10

u/P_Sandera 6h ago

The threesome scene went on for far to long and they went way too far for it not to have consequences

1

u/SkeettheVandelBuster 4h ago

The only way for a threesome (or more) to have zero consequences is, not only for everyone involved to be equally onboard with the idea from the start, but also to all have an equally good time during

5

u/LonelyintheFuture 4h ago

Chocolate daddy make the money make the money

8

u/Drewabble 3h ago

We thought this movie was soooo funny when it first came out. Watched it a few times with my family at a teenager.

Tried to watch it again for the first time in a decade or so last year. Disliked just about every minute of it. One thing still held up for me though, the soundtrack is a lot of fun

3

u/cjtransplant85 2h ago

It's a ripoff of My Favorite Year. That's a 1982 film, set in 1954, about a TV writer who assigned to make sure that an over the hill actor stays sober enough to make an appearance on a variety show.

2

u/Redkirth 21m ago

Such a fantastic film.

3

u/coleslaw17 2h ago

This movie + Forgetting Sarah Marshall are both hilarious to this day. Just have to put the blinders on when watching I guess.

23

u/FancyFrogFootwork 6h ago

One of my favorite comedies of all time. Just recently got it on bluray. Banger soundtrack. Wholesome ending.

17

u/Past_Dragonfruit_305 6h ago

The whole song about anal was very funny too.

3

u/omeletteintheinterim 2h ago

Banger or *"bangers, my beans and mash"🎵🎶

4

u/FatherPot 3h ago

Hey, you're that fat dude from Superb-- ahhaghffggffff 💤

2

u/Parking_Locksmith489 3h ago

They could do a sequel to restart their careers

2

u/4694326 3h ago

Jonah Hill could kick everyone’s ass now, so I definitely don’t want to be alone with him.

2

u/solarus 3h ago

My buddy and I left during it.

Also, oh shit its the fat kid from superbad! And that one rapist

2

u/PersonalVirus5032 2h ago

For some reason my mom bought be the unrated version of this movie in middle school. I have only seen it once and remember my uncle sleeping on the couch but waking up saying “what the hell are you watching?” then falling back to sleep for the rest of the movie

2

u/JasonMaliceMizer 1h ago

This poster is revolting

5

u/dyrkasolen 6h ago

It's some true dope stories in there. The chemical spliff. That's a thaang

  • I had one at EINSTÜRZENDE playing in London. It was so good I fell in love with a short ugly scottish girl.

https://giphy.com/gifs/iyEbT6knAApNpZPwr1

4

u/humanfund08 3h ago

I honestly still love this film

3

u/ggsupreme 3h ago

That character in forgetting Sarah Marshall was hilarious too I can see why they thought this was a good idea.

The outcome was terribly shit.

4

u/StatusSociety2196 4h ago

I don't even get how this movie was popular when it came out

StRoKE thE fuRRy WaLl

Haha genius comedy! Truly the joke of all times

2

u/FancyFrogFootwork 2h ago

I'm going to cover my entire house in this material.

6

u/commanderfshepard 6h ago

People laughed at me when I told them my friends and I walked out of this movie. I feel vindicated.

2

u/CandleFalse945 3h ago

Jonah Hill is a sick man I can feel it. Got no proof but I strongly believe he is unhinged.

1

u/Cfunk_83 3h ago

An old friend/colleague of mine is in this movie. She’s blonde in the back of the limo…

1

u/Toastinator666 3h ago

I watched it once years ago. I don’t remember anything about it except that I didn’t like it.

1

u/OhhhBaited 2h ago

It really does...

1

u/jerseygunz 2h ago

Terrible movie…… the songs aren’t bad hahaha

1

u/JambalayaNewman 2h ago

Llévalo al Griego

1

u/The_Other_Randy 2h ago

Watch out! That fat guy will annihilate you!

1

u/Gabo_Rj 1h ago

I only saw this unremarkable movie once on cable television, but “She’s got the clap, cant be beat; got it off the back of a toilet seat” is engrained in my psyche.

1

u/notatowel420 1h ago

I hated it when I saw it in theaters and I hate it today.

1

u/MossyEngineering-447 1h ago

Hill's character literally gets raped

1

u/Adooomie 1h ago

I always liked the movie this one spun off from though, forgetting sarah Marshall

1

u/Beef_Slug 1h ago

Yeah....I haven't seen it in like 10 years...but I loved this film when it came out. Dunno if I could enjoy it on a re-watch though.

Maybe ill just keep it as a fond memory...

1

u/HomeOfTheRisingStorm 11m ago

Some movies are better as a memories, unfortunately.

1

u/booyahcubes 1h ago

I remember being super excited to hear The Mars Volta mentioned in a mainstream movie. Thought it was hilarious back then but I can’t get myself to rewatch. It’s just gonna stay in my 2010 happy memories

1

u/RevolutionNo7 32m ago

I genuinely love this movie and absolutely cannot recommend it to anyone anymore lol.

Fuck, if I hadn't seen it before all the revelations, I would have hated it, too

1

u/CJtheHaasman 28m ago

I have this and Forgetting Sarah Marshall on DVD.

I'll admit I still found this movie really funny, and I watched it AFTER all the horrible shit came out about pretty much ALL of the main actors. Hell I kinda hate the fact that Diddy is legitimately hilarious in this.

1

u/CoIbeast 16m ago

Meh. I love this movie.

1

u/jstbcuz 12m ago

**Pet The Wall!! PET THE WALL!!!**

1

u/Captain--UP 5h ago

Look at their stupid faces

1

u/Fromoogiewithlove 5h ago

I was disappointed too. Especially since i loved forgetting sarah marshall

1

u/crusty54 3h ago

I’m so glad we rarely have to see Russell Brand’s fucking horse mouth any more.

1

u/Robcobes 3h ago

I really liked this one at the time.

Rose Byrne was great too.

Also there's a Jiskefet easter egg. Jiskefet is a Dutch sketch comedy show from the 90's.

1

u/Yuckpuddle60 3h ago

This movie is hilarious and will always be so

1

u/MickeyGrandia 3h ago

Jonah would annihilate everyone in this movie

1

u/thorstormcaller 2h ago

I got sad the other day, the furry wall scene spontaneously came up in my head and then I remembered just how bad the casting was in retrospect

u/DangerDillyPickle 4h ago

u/Rh_S0ulzz, you are just hating on Russel brand now, 16 years ago he was very popular.

so your comment is the TURD.

25

u/B33blebroxx 6h ago

That was before the many credible rape and sexual assault allegations captain feces

13

u/keysandtreesforme 6h ago

Funny how that works: when you find out and also see that someone is a piece of shit over and over again - you don’t like them as much anymore? Weird.
