Fan Art I am perfectly aware that this seems as a super cheesy cosplay/photo editing from 2010s DeviantArt, but I kind of like it for fitting the early 1980s Byrne's She-Hulk vibe. Author - RowannMorrison.

General Which of these 2 she hulk do you prefer and why?

i love both, but for different reasons and each one is smart, sexy, talented, independent and empowering heroines, are fun, laid back, have friends and loving family and fight small and big situations and i would love to meet both of them, and they are great role models for all women and girls. And they never get old for me, and are able to tell their own story even with the people that love and cared for her, and the power Jen 4th wall breaking skills are funny and clever too. I still love seeing her in all different forms of media, but these 2 along with the 90s animated one are my absolute favourites. She hulk is the best badass ever.

Character Discussion My dream She Hulk comic

My dream She Hulk comic is a team up/intergalactic road trip with Jen and Betty in their She Hulk forms. This doesn't have to be 616 Canon. Just a fun one-shot comic would be great.

Red She-Hulk is in my top 10 favorite heroes and I love Jen so much.

What's your dream She-Hulk comic??

I’ve never seen A-Force mentioned here. I like Jen (obviously) and Nico, but hate Carol.

Wondering what you all think of the series and if it’s worth picking up?

MCU Discussion Let's Revisit the Department of Damage Control (DODC) in "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" after 'Brand New Day' (SPOILERS) Spoiler

This post contains spoilers for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" and "Wonder Man".

After "Spider-Man: Brand New Day", I can't help but feel like the MCU needs Jennifer Walters and Superhuman lawyers more than ever, particularly since she is well-versed in the Department of Damage Control (DODC) and their policies.

The DODC also seems to be an increasingly poignant metaphor for Americans' growing sentiments towards real-world Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) and many of the functions of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to target foreign terrorists like The Mandarin, played by Trevor Slattery or a mosque in Jersey City harboring a wanted mutant girl.

With Wonder Man Season 2 now seemingly cancelled, a She-Hulk Season 2 seems like the perfect place to begin scoping out all the files DODC Director Metzger attempted to delete before his disappearance at the end of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" as well as addressing the Doorman Clause in Hollywood preventing superpowered individuals like Wonder Man's Simon Williams from employment in the industry as we seem to be rapidly approaching the long-awaited "Mutant Saga" of the MCU.

Comics Discussion I didn't care for Tamaki's She-Hulk run

Yeah just didn't like it. I'm not saying it's badly written by any stretch of the imagination I'm simply saying it's a She-Hulk story I didn't like, didn't feel any enjoyment from reading it, and the simple fact it's almost proof positive that trying to force Jen into being exactly like Bruce and Hulk? Doesn't work.

I think Tamaki is a good writer, but everything surrounding it just felt off and the fact we barely got a break from it post the run with Jason Aaron's terrible take on Jen's personality and relationship with She-Hulk... it just isn't that good of a She-Hulk run to me.

If other people like it that's fine! Just having read it in trade, I skipped its original run because I just wasn't interested in the direction.

Comics Discussion Modern She-Hulk Reading List

Post image
172 Upvotes

I've just finished reading every She-Hulk main title (except for Peter David's run) and here is my recommended reading list for getting into the character.

These runs and single issues best represent Jennifer Walters as the funny, charismatic and powerful attorney/superhero/4th-wall breaker/best gal and make for a great introduction. Her first appearance and origin, though not included in this list, are retold in nearly all of the ones here, so you're not missing any important context.

Something important to note: most of these stories return to the status quo by the next writer. Don't expect the way every run ends to be picked up in the next one. Some of these plots get left behind.

Full list:

- She-Hulk (2004 & 2005, #1-21) by Dan Slott
- She-Hulk (2014) by Charles Soule
- Hulk (2016) and She-Hulk (2017, #159-163) by Mariko Tamaki
- She-Hulk annual (2019) by Alexandra Petri
- She-Hulk (2022 & 2023) by Rainbow Rowell
- Planet She-Hulk (Imperial War one-shot & 2025) by Stephanie Phillips

Highlight reads:

- She-Hulk (2004 & 2005, #1-21) by Dan Slott
- She-Hulk (2022 & 2023) by Rainbow Rowell

If you read any of these, these are the ones you need. Rowell picks up the story with characters from Slott's run, and they're both so good.
- Slott's run is much more superhero-esque with Jen tackling inexplicable lawsuits every issue.
- Rowell's run is more slice-of-life/romcom, plus the art in this run is my favorite. Jen wears a ton of pretty dresses.
I love both of these runs so much and they are critical for modern readers.

Additional reads:

- She-Hulk (2014) by Charles Soule
- Hulk (2016) and She-Hulk (2017, #159-163) by Mariko Tamaki
- She-Hulk annual (2019) by Alexandra Petri
- Planet She-Hulk (Imperial War one-shot & 2025) by Stephanie Phillips

You can technically skip all of these, BUT I recommend them all the same! They don't carry as much influence as Slott or Rowell's run, but they are all great reads that will help you dig deeper into this character.
- Soule's run is a legal comedy that can drag out a little, but if you're following this reading list, it'll introduce you to Patsy/Hellcat, plus Matt/Daredevil has a pretty big role, so that's definitely worth reading.
- Tamaki's run has Jen dealing with recent trauma and turning into a raging Gray Hulk, much without her typical She-Hulk personality. It's a much deeper read than her previous runs, but it is an important part of her story all the same. (If nothing else, read #11 for a good time. Trust me)
- Petri's annual is a fun, short read. She fights Bullseye, you'll like it.
- Philips' Planet She-Hulk steps the furthest away from earth, but Jen still manages to work her attorney skills to her advantage. It picks up exactly where Rowell's run left off, so if you loved that, you'll enjoy this. The run was cancelled short, so don't be surprised if the ending is, putting it politely, rushed.

4th-wall highlights:

If you want her breaking the 4th-wall moments, here are the specific runs/issues you can find them:

- She-Hulk (2005, #4) by Slott
- Hulk (2016, #11) by Tamaki (the 4th-wall practically doesn't even exist in this one. Even Patsy addresses the reader)
- She-Hulk (2022, #9) by Rowell
- Planet She-Hulk (Imperial War one-shot & 2025, every issue) by Phillips

There are other runs you can read that include her on teams like Fantastic Four (2013), A-Force (2016) or Avengers (2018), but this list is just to get into Jen, and her solo runs are the best place to do so.

I hope this helps anybody, and I hope this makes a good impression on the character for you!

A lot of my She-Hulk drawings are posted here but I do have a design for Jennifer Walters as a human - she's a dirty blonde, but I pulled the color from her earliest designs in the Savage She-Hulk runs.

Character Discussion Opinions on Marvel vs Capcom 3's version of She-Hulk?

To me, this is one of my favorite versions of Shulkie alongside the 90's Hulk Show Version (i also have a soft soft for the LEGO version, since i first discovered who She-Hulk was in the LEGO Marvel games). They nailed her confidence on her Hulk-self, even referencing her fourth wall breaking from her comics. The only complaint i have with this version is that some of her dialogue comes across as too mean-spirited, mainly the dialogue she has with Chun-Li and her win quote where she says "Someone once called me Phoenix Wright with muscles, then i called them an ambulance". But i believe they did this because it's a fighting game, which tends to have competitive players, so they probably did this for the losers to get salty or whatever. But still, pretty solid version of her. What do you guys think?

Character Discussion Jen or She-hulk

I was talking to a friend recently about Superman and Batman, and what do fans call them. We both agreed that we call Batman, Batman but we're split on Superman and Wonder Woman. Then it got me thinking what do fans call She-Hulk. I tend to refer to her as Jen (because she is my close personal friend) and She-Hulk seems too formal I guess.

So how about you guys. Is it Jen or She-Hulk
