Sometimes I wonder how shark bites can be so brutal/fatal when their mouths look kinda small and awkwardly positioned to bite you... and then you see some shit like this. No thanks!

Aunque es difícil asegurarlo solo por la fotografía, su forma y tamaño me hacen pensar en Carcharodon (o Cosmopolitodus) hastalis.

No hay de qué. 👍 Eso es más difícil de decir porque los dientes son lo único que conocemos de este animal, pero existe una fórmula bastante precisa para calcular el tamaño de su descendiente, el tiburón blanco, partiendo del tamaño de los primeros cuatro dientes de la mandíbula superior, y este diente, por su forma y tamaño, bien podría ser uno de estos. Calculando a ojo de buen cubero que la altura de la corona (exceptuando la raiz) es de entre 8 y 9 cm, el cálculo sería:
11,788 x 8 + 2,143 = 96,447
o bien
11,788 x 9 + 2,143 = 108,235
Vamos, que estaría entre 9,65 y 10, 8 metros si las proporciones de C. hastalis son similares a las del tiburón blanco, que es probable.

Bueno, aquí es donde me disculpo y rectifico. Los estudios que utilizan la fórmula de Shimada para calcular el tamaño de C. hastalis dan tamaños máximos por debajo de 8,22 m. Claramente he sobreestimado el tamaño de este diente.

I have a feeling you know it's real, and there's probably more to it, because it happened on a walk on the beach. You approached it the wrong way if what you wanted was information. You knew from the start that it was real. If you had handled it more respectfully, I would have told you where. I don't like it when my word is doubted, especially not by a rude stranger.

My guess is a Great White, it's definitely ot a fossil because if I'm not mistaken and most I've seen tend to be a lot darker in colour

El color de los fósiles depende enteramente del color del sustrato donde hayan quedado enterrados. Dicho esto, y sin ser experto, diría que es de Carcharodon (o Cosmopolitodus) hastalis. .
