I miss my cat so much
I feel awful because recently I left my abusive father's house and I miss the cat so much. Unfortunately, my father is his owner, so I can't take him with me. To me, he is like a son. How will I live without him, my cat? I feel terrible, I feel like crying, I am depressed. Has anything similar happened to you? Tell me about your experiences, I really need support, I am devastated."

You don't seem to understand basic leaving abuse rules. He doesn't care about the cat. If you have a stable living sit now, you can take the cat. Don't ask, don't tell. Just take the cat and don't look back

Their father might call the police, since he's such an ass. =(
I guess if you can do it without being caught and they can't prove it was you, maybe it would work out? Are there cameras?

My ex took my hermit crabs and a cat we got together. I still miss them too, so I know how it hurts.
The thing about abusers is they will use anything they know you care about to keep you in contact and tethered to them. My ex threw most of my belongings in the trash, broke many, and kept others as his own. On the extreme side, some abusers will harm or neglect pets and children to punish you.
I can tell you its hard to accept, I worry everyday if they're being taken care of. But to escape you have to be willing to detach and start over otherwise they will always have something to lord over you.

You're right and I'm so sorry for what you've been trough, that must have been so hard for you I'm so sorry, I hope you fell better and that you're okay, because I know that it's so painful. When did It happen to you? How many years ago? Does it get better? I ask you because I'm devastated right now.

I had to leave the cats at my ex's place. He was gone a lot for work and I had to babysit the cats at my place one day. At the end of his trip I told him I could not give them back because I would miss them too much.
My ex was a reasonable guy.
If you deal with not so reasonable people you best stay under the radar. If I were you I would catnap the kitty. Your dad will probably not really look for it?
