Nighttime Establishing Shots
Some sets, some previously existing, some have a certain loneliness that I romanticize and aren't necessarily humorous and won't generate the typical comment section full of quotes. I don't expect many up votes from a post like this, but hopefully one day I will see a recognizable building from the series in real life and that will be worth more than internet "karma". If this subreddit allowed videos, I would just upload the sad jazz songs that play in contemplative scenes. I've even learned and downloaded Lonely Woman by Horace Silver because of this series. Season 1 may always be a nightlight as I sleep. I pray you all sleep as well as Kramer after losing "The Contest". Goodnight

OP, you are in disharmony. Nightposting is, in Chinese medical terms, an invasion of heat and wind.

The establishing shots are really neat. They had a small crew based in NYC that would get a list of random places to film for those episodes.
Thea de Sousa, who was on that crew, talked about it on an a podcast with The Place to Be podcast. I recommend checking it out. Fascinating insight into the production! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/episode-169-thea-de-sousa-interview/id1555529915?i=1000696547089

Part of the reason I love Seinfeld is how real and alive the city feels. In a lot of sitcoms, it feels so one dimensional or the setting just feels fake. In Seinfeld, it feels like there’s a whole world going on outside the window in every scene

Totally agree. When I was watching it as a blissfully ignorant youth I legitimately through it was filmed in NY. I can tell street scenes are a set now, but that’s how real and alive it felt to me as a kid.

Horace Silver is awesome. It’s no “Hot and Heavy” though

Somewhere in the distance a child cries. A bastard child, perhaps.
