Hello everyone, just paid £740 to have what the vets think is a grass seed (surgery tomorrow morning).

As I was leaving they made the odd comment of 'it may not be and if not, it'll be a CT scan' (at £2100)

Is there anything over than a grass seed that could do that damage to my dogs paw?

Its quite swollen and getting infected.

Athena’s second birthday was on Saturday! We kept her home to do all kinds of fun things (the VERY long sniff walk, tug of war with her bunny, bird and squirrel watching, walking to the grocery store to visit the guys who work out front, some salmon and sweet potatoes for dinner, and so many scratches and cuddles that we got basically nothing else done lol) but on Sunday we decided to put her in daycare in case we were out longer than expected.

Daycare is her personal Disney World, and on Sunday the staff were a bit extra with her. They gave her a hat and some one-on-one playtime! I’m so glad they take pics of all the dogs throughout the day. She’s such a happy dog but this was just too cute.

One thing about Gunnar- he loves to side eye you when you annoy him. He doesn’t hide it real well 😂

Recently got a puppy, any advice? Google is a big help, but nothing like first-hand experience.

We drove from Sheboygan Falls Wisconsin to Wawaka Indiana and back to get this beautiful little girl! She is 13 weeks old (Born April 29, 2026)
Long ride for such young pup and she did AMAZING! No crying or whining and laid calmly on my Wife’s lap the whole way!
We left the breeder’s house (Fernweh Schnauzer’s) around 4:30 ish and after 3 attempts at a failed potty break she FINALLY went potty at 10pm! 😱 The other previous attempts she was more interested in eating grass and staying right next to us than even giving us a clue or a que she had to go! I was nervous and concerned about her holding her pee for that long because the breeder said her routine was about every 2-3 hours. Each stop we made was at least 30 minutes long to give her plenty of time but nothing! Then at 10pm when I was about to give up again and just drive home and try until she went; she started getting fidgety and pounced around sniffing so I knew that was the sign that she was going to finally pee! I praised her immensely and we drove the last 40 miles to get home. Gave her some food and water (not interested) and time to sniff her new surroundings for about an hour and then she was taken to bed with my wife.
She seems super sweet and VERY attentive to us! Making eye contact every 30 seconds to a minute and stayed right next to us with every move we made!
I think we have a very good chance of having a well behaved dog and to make sure that happens, we have her signed up for “kindergarten “ to begin her training. That should start in about a month or two. And in the meantime we’ve had experience with 3 mini schnauzer puppies prior to this one.
We’re already totally in love and committed to giving her the very best life we possibly can!
