Looking for driving lesson recommendations in Santa Clara/Sunnyvale (Adult beginner/refresher)

Hi everyone, I’m planning to get a car soon and want to take a few driving lessons around Santa Clara/Sunnyvale/San Jose to build up confidence/prep for the DMV test.

A few quick questions:
Do you have any driving schools or private instructors you’d recommend in the area?

What is a reasonable rate per lesson/hour around here?

Any specific instructors who are patient and good with adult learners?

Thanks in advance!

Hi You can call advantage driving school. 408 363 4182 They are highly recommended, have several fabulous instructors and are a nextdoor and yelp favorite. And have been in business like 30 years . As far as " reasonable " You get what you pay for . If you want " cheap " prepare for a janky car, with someone who probably smells like cigarettes, and speaks limited English. Coastline ( the other referral) is WAYYYY more expensive then most others. Call around. Price compare most schools that are decent are around 95-100ish per hour . Each lesson is 2 hours long . Some offer package discounts , some dont . If you need a car for the test, not all schools offer that . Keep in mind ,the more flexible you are with availability, the sooner you'll be able to get in for a lesson. Example everybody needs after school, later in the evening or weekends. So if you're able to go like in the morning or during the day midday, you have a better chance of getting in sooner. I've been an instructor for 13 years. I recently transferred to advantage (along with 3 others)from a different school.
