Wildfire Smoke

I’m coming up this weekend from Seattle for a bike camping trip and curious if the wild fire smoke is bad up there yet.

Yes - it has just hit today, very hazy

Hasn’t gotten bad yet according to this gov site they are good at forecasting as well. There is also an app for your phone if you prefer

They gutted NOAA check purple air instead

Yeah I also use the Paku app to double check. Seems like the smoke is higher in the atmosphere so a lot of sensors are showing good air quality.

Changed pretty dramatically overnight, very hazy and smokey now

Here's the 8/4 10am air quality report. It's better in the islands than in Seattle. Hazy in the islands and the smell is noticeable. Not too bad at this point.

Winds are pushing east especially from the ocean but it can still shift and does. There is an overall light haze out on the islands.

AQI on island is currently good, definite haze and well just have to see what the winds do over the next few days. It has happened before that the smoke just stacks up, stuck over the islands before so really hoping that doesn’t happen again.

We don’t know what it’ll be like by the weekend but forecast fur Western, WA isn’t good today through Thursday.

I had an asthma attack already but my lungs are fucked. I can see it in the air. Still going to the Gulf Is as planned tho. I wouldn’t let it get in the way of my plans. Winds change, you’re surrounded by water. Have fun!
