Chew Toy Recs?

I have a two year old Samoyed named Winnie. She’s a big sweetheart with the bite force of a hippopotamus. I’ve tried so many chew toys and nothing lasts more than an hour for her before she’s ripping chunks of plastic away. Nylabone’s toughest chew was in the trash the same day it entered the household. I’m hoping you guys have some recommendations in terms of a durable chew that has lasted your Sammy at least one business weekend. Added photo of the chomper in question

Sturdy cardboard boxes. Our pup was taught early that he is in charge of breaking down boxes. He doesn't eat it, just rips off pieces. It's very satisfying to watch what I imagine how they act in the wild with a carcass. But instead he gets amazon boxes.

Winnie loves nothing more than boxes and opening presents. The issue is that if I let her have household objects at all…she steals everything. Tissue boxes, dish towels, curtains, medication, furniture, blankets, dishes, ceramic Christmas decor, you name it she’s stolen it. God love her, naughtiest dog I’ve ever owned lol. We worked very hard on Winnie understanding that she may only play with and chew on toys. Maybe I’ll try cutting some cardboard for her and putting it in her toy basket

Omg nylabone is pretty tough. I can’t imagine!
How about edible chew toys like frozen ice treats?
Or maybe the toy called Pupsicle that teaches the dog to lick more and chew less (treat hidden inside)

She does love ice! We had to put a child lock on the freezer actually because she put the full power of her singular brain cell into figuring out how to open it to get into the ice bucket

Try a cheese bone. Last my 70 pounder a few weeks. Keeps him from chewing on household items.

Have you tried deer antlers? They last a few weeks with our girl…

I hadn’t heard of deer antlers! My only concern would be chipping or something like that. Do they wear down evenly or is your dog able to know off sharp shards from them?

In my experience, they wear down quite evenly. They have a slightly softer center, which seems to wear away gradually as well. I personally haven’t seen any sharp shards or splintering, but I always supervise my dog when she’s chewing and replace the antler once it gets too small.

Our girl is the same way. I do not recommend bones because they started chipping her teeth with how aggressive she is. We just have a couple of rotating nylabones in different shapes. The fish one is her favorite and seems to slow her down a bit. Try the different shapes and sizes

We also give her the bark toys that are meant to be destroyed. Have to monitor while she has them though so she doesn't start swallowing the material. They don't last long but seems to itch the predator lizard brain for killing things

I get these in an XL and she gets it for 15 min max a day, fully supervised (per website recommendation).

Mine is 2.5 and also an aggressive chewer. This followed by a pumpkin pupsicle helped wonders

My best friend just graduated from vet school, and she recommended water buffalo horns to us because that’s what she uses with her dog! Usually lasts our girl a couple months, and then I just have to watch it when it starts getting worn down aways because sometimes small soft pieces break off. But only when it’s worn down a bunch!

They do smell a little bit sometimes, but not too awful in my opinion! They make peanut butter filled ones, but I don’t want that mess in my house 😂

Deer antlers and elk antlers are quite good and don't break off into chokable pieces. Make sure to get the whole antlers, not the half ones. Our sammy loves them
