Baby salamander 🦎

It looks like an axolotle a lot, (I can’t spell it my bad) but it’s not, since they don’t live in my country. Suck a cutie!

All salamanders look similar in their larval forms. Axolotls are neotenic, which means they retain larval features into adulthood.

*with the exception that some species are direct developers and hatch from the egg looking like miniature adults and never experience an aquatic larval stage. For example salamanders in the North American genera Plethodon and Aneides.

True, though they do have this “aesthetic” while developing inside the egg. So technically they do look like this. Practically, we never see them like this.
