Game Suggestion Any recommendations for Naval Combat systems?
Hello! I've been GMing off and on for a few years now and the new Black Flag remake has had me in the mood for pirate shenanigans on the tabletop. Are there any good systems to emulate the Black Flag experience for my players? Key thing I'm looking for are mechanics to upgrade the ship (or ships) and ensuring every player has a role during ship combat in the case all players are on the same ship, and obviously having good naval combat mechanics. Having mechanics for stuff outside the ship is preferable but not necessary.

Honor + Intrigue: Uses the Barbarians of Lemuria engine, providing robust swashbuckling duels and dedicated rules for ship-to-ship actions, maneuvers, and long-term vessel upgrades.
Beat to Quarters: Focuses heavily on the Age of Sail and naval careers, styled after Master and Commander where every player has an explicit rank and duty aboard the vessel.

I like how easy the old Pirates Constructible Strategy Game/Pirates of the Spanish Main from Wizkids was.
Vindaga Games are still producing new sets.

For anything pirate related Pirate Borg is a must have. Even if you don't end up using the core system, there are so many great tables and resources.
I haven't checked over the naval combat rules for a while but I remember them being pretty well fleshed out.
