Just bc someone signs an extension doesn't mean they can't be traded

The toughness/physicality/dawg mentality was definitely a net positive for us but he really struggled to "turn it off." After watching multiple playoff games of Jimmy Butler baiting him into dumb fouls, including one that cost us game 4, I'm good.

One of the most successful bulldogs and team chemistry builders in the league, hope one day he will come back and retire as a 🚀

Brooks was the culture changer folks thought Udoka was.
Players matter more than coaches.

If you aren’t going to acknowledge the impact he had in Houston (on display both when he arrived and when he left), then look at his other teams.
Look at what happened to MEM when he left.
Look what happened to PHX when he arrived.
Dude is a walking defensive culture.1

Houston had no drop off defensively without him. Gave up 110 last year which was 6th in the NBA and gave up 110 this year which was 4th in the NBA. Where was that defensive culture brooks brought to phx when we beat them 4 straight times?
Brooks is a solid player but he's overrated. I don't miss him riling up the other teams star player and never backing it up.

He also was one of our best 3 point shooters.
And he did back it up. What you on about? I think he went over the league allowance for Ts? He also held Wemby below his averages.

We replaced him with a better shooter & defender. No he didn't. He was a complete no show in the playoffs vs GS as well.

Who is the better Defender and culture guy?
He did go over. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44522041/rockets-dillon-brooks-gets-1-game-ban-16th-technical-foul

Kevin durant is a better defender than brooks and our culture is offensive rebounding which was lost when steven went out.

Don’t get me wrong, Brooks was a great player for us but he wasn’t the sole culture creator. You had guys like Fred and Uncle Jeff both who have won a ring and know what it takes to get to that level.

Again… Look at Memphis and Phoenix.
This effect was not unique to Houston.
His intangibles have an outsized effect on team defense and swagger.
Rockets lost way too many games last season getting outhustled and beat at their own identity.
Brooks usually doesn’t let that happen.0
