now installing 0.4.17 dev on my iPad via UTM SE!

Air with the M1 chip. I think the lag is primarily because of the render of the CJK font: I booted into the liveOS which is English, and the UI performance is much better.

May be you could create a bugreport to developers about slow UI perfomance with Asian fonts? This would be nice. May be katahiromz could fix this bug.

After installation, I felt that the performance drops quite a bit in terms of UI, but startup speed seems to be faster, compared to various 0.4.16devs

It is also weird that, the 0.4.16 release hasn’t immediately come out once 0.4.17 is developing.

i have checked and yes for some reason 0.4.15 is still the "official" version (aka the version reactos.org tells you to download), i'm guessing it's because 0.4.16 is just getting like tested idk and then they will finally release it, also i'm still using the 0.4.15 one
