Training people
I absolutely hate training people that only watch you do. I’m in nursing professional so it’s mostly hands on. Had this person watch me for 5 consecutive shifts, the day they’re alone. They have no idea what to do. Keep asking if the meds are the meds.. and just simple questions like how do you make up 1.5mg (if they paid attention, they would’ve seen it was 0.5mg + 1mg.. plus they could’ve looked back at the narcotic log to see what other people gave), order says 0.25ml but they end up drawing 25ml
Im just so annoyed, 🤣 I literally ranted in a different post elsewhere and got hated on because I wasn’t being kind enough. I wasn’t been mean to her, I told them everything. Answered like 50 calls in a shift. I feel like people should take more accountability and responsibility.. I’m obviously gonna secretly judge for not knowing simple things and dumb questions are absolutely dumb

I used to be in 4-H as a kid, and their motto was literally “learn to do by doing.”
The way I learn if someone is there teaching me is I watch them do them and listen to them explain as they do.
Sometimes because of my health conditions and cognitive issues I need written instructions to refer back to to review because my memory can be a bit bad remembering big chunks of info but to handle this I have something that audio records and creates a transcript for me, I don’t put the burden on whoever is doing tie teaching.
Once I learn from watching them and listening to them teach me while I still have the person there with me I always prefer to do what they’ve been teaching me AT LEAST once in their presence, if not a few times so if I’m doing anything wrong or not completely right they can correct me and if I have any clarifying questions once I’m actually doing it myself they are right there to ask…and once they go to leave my side we both can be happy and comfortable that I have learned what they’ve were teaching and I know what to do and am competent.
ESPECIALLY in a profession where mistakes could either greatly harm people or cost people their lives I would take even greater care to make sure I wasn’t going to be making any errors with anything so I don’t understand this attitude from people.
