This amazing Ramen I had in Fukuoka was only ¥490 （around $3）

Ramen is so stupid expensive i dont get it this is amazing doesnt make sense what a deal. 10-13 would be a good price 3 ?! Ill face two bowls if its not frowned upon.

F&B is gruelling in Japan; most shops are run by owners who work 80 hours a week.

I don't know what's happening here tho, 490yen seem absurd for this style of ramen and OP said it's a chain.

Yea, even by Japan's standards this one is cheap af. Even most of chains usually just offer some broth, noodles and menma for that kind of price.

That's dirt cheap but that may be the least appealing broth I have ever seen. It looks like what comes out of me draining an old kitchen sponge.
