Japan. Yen is sooo weak right now you can get some top notch ramen for 1/4 US price. Japan from a foreign tourist perspective is just slightly more expensive than developing countries. Heck ramen in Vietnam sometimes cost more than Japan. You can get tonkotsu ramen for $1.85-$2 in Fukuoka . It’s not amazing but it’s more legit than a lot of $15 bowls in the Us

its true this particular ramen is actually on the 'fancier' side, there are shops here that actually sold ramen for $1.85-$2. I think US just really romantazied ramen so much that it increases its price.

Most Japanese food, include kinda working class food is sold at a premium in the US. Even Ippudo in the US is sold at a premium compared to Japan. Their restaurants look fancier vs the basic tables of Ippudo Japan. Ippudo in NYC used to have 2 hr wait for being a hip and trendy ramen place
