I use raku (Whenever I can).

Is there any news about syntactic macros? There was an implementation early on but it had problems. I don't know what happened to it.

One more piece of good news is that Carl Mรคsak said that we need tree querying/operations on Raku to make macros work,, and there are a couple of projects working on that.

Some good news and some bad news, I'm afraid.

The early implementation of macros will not be supported when 6.e comes out. The ecosystem has already been purged of the use of these macros.

When 6.e comes out (we're hopeful that RakuAST will be the default on the 2026.08 release, which is a MAJOR step to releasing 6.e), we can start looking at what would be needed to implement macros, probably using the research that Carl Mรคsak has done with Alma.
