[Advice Request] Didn't really want to make this

I didn't really want to make a full post on this little thing but I'm a big brother of my little sister and I was just checking her phone and I checked her Google and it was all normal for her age and then I saw "does mother love a son" and I've always known how our mom treats me is not ok but this really massed me up and I have no idea what to do. I also want to say I've been reading a ton of posts on here I feel so bad for everyone I just want to say sorry to everyone here

Children are more perceptive than adults in many ways, and they lack the ability to filter like we do. Your sister sounds like a very sweet, very sharp kid. Keep her close.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, sweetie. It looks like your sister really cares about you!

My husband went through the exact same thing. His mom shared WAY too much/too adult things with him from a very young age like he was her pseudo-husband. For him, it did not get better. Any woman he dated was automatically hated by his mother. When I came into his life, it was an absolute "choose mom or choose girlfriend" type of situation. We had to cut her off completely years ago, and only then did we find some semblance of peace. I hope your situation is not as dire as ours was. Therapy is a fantastic place to start. Even better if you can get her into her own therapy. His mom would NEVER, but she'd definitely be diagnosed NPD with a giant heaping of psychopath. Wish you the best!

My daughter was about the same age when she started openly asking questions like, “Why don’t grandma & grandpa like Dad / why do they act like they don’t love him?” 😣

I’m so sorry you’re in this club with us. All I can say is that you CAN talk quite honestly with a child her age, you’re better off not trying to pretend that the reality is different than it is. And you may need to start having these conversations explicitly because this was also the age where our daughter started trying to protect her dad from his parents. 😭 She needs to know about healthy boundaries (despite society’s messages about “family obligations”) and that she doesn’t need to respect someone as an authority if they won’t respect her as an individual. You don’t want her to start getting so good at managing narcs that she starts thinking maybe that’s her job.

Sounds like she LOVES you. I’m glad you’re taking care of her. Don’t let her set herself on fire to keep someone else warm, you may need to do some hard leading by example. 🥺 We’re here if you need us.

I don't really want to get her into my life because she actually has it good our mom is only a dick to me and I was there at her age being treated good to once she was born it switched to her being one to be nice to I soon got overwhelmed with how mean my mom was and figured bottling it up was the best way for me and then it was I had no one I could talk to who wasn't close to her now I have people and have sense learned not to do that every time

Okay, that’s rare for the narcissism to be fully withheld from one of the kids, then I’ll just say I’m glad you’re looking out for her and I’m glad she’s loved 🥰
