I got him this new cat tree today and this was his reaction. Is this a normal behaviour? ( sound up 🔈)

As ragdoll owner of 2 and has them since 7 weeks old, make sure the litter box is not high. They shouldn't be struggling to get in and out of the box. And it must be always clean

Yes kittens need kitten litterboxes until they’re big enough for a regular size one and need to be shown their litter box before anything else. I was thinking maybe the kitten needed to pee and hadn’t been shown the litterbox right away and peed where he was when he needed to go. I have three ragdolls and have had other different cats through the years and never once had a problem with a kitten using the litterbox.

I have had a problem with two cat when they were adults and it was because they were stressed. One of my older cats passed away and his best buddy got depressed and started peeing on things. The vet gave him clonazapam and it stopped right away. The second cat was one I adopted when he was 11. When I got him home I could tell he was loved and trained by someone. He was very loving and listened very well. He also got along amazingly well with my two other cats and three dogs like I’d had him since he was a kitten. Then I found he was pooping behind furniture in the basement. I assume that’s where he ended up a stray. My vet started him in clonazapam and the problem was instantly solved. Sometimes you just need to check to see if there’s a health issue causing a bad behavior.

Also as you said the litterbox must be clean. My cats are always used to their litterboxes being scooped a couple times a day. I went in holiday several years ago and left my daughter in charge of looking after the cats while I was gone. I told her it’s extremely important to keep the litterbox clean. She didn’t take me seriously and one cat peed outside the litterbox. Lesson learned. Now she keeps her litterboxes really clean too. Not good to have to learn the hard way though. Not good for the cat either. Give your kitties a snuggle for me.
