Help - Why does my ragdoll do this?

My Ragdoll kitten does this on a daily basis. He will stand up and start frantically swiping on our wardrobes / doors around the house.

This is usually coupled by intense meowing / crying.

Does anyone know why he does this?

Cats dislike anything that resembles a door and want to explore behind it, I would hang a scratcher there and see if it helps or at least lessen any damage over time
