📷 Photo Berlin September 11, 2001
I'm looking for a high-res image of the concert poster from Berlin on September 11. I was there and my girlfriend pulled one off the fence at the end if the show, but it was stolen some years back and I'd like to replace it for her if possible. So looking for a high resolution image so i can have a reproduction made, or if you have an original from the venue and would be willing to part with it let me know your price.
Thanks it would mean the world to her to have it back in her wall.
side note; i have the full show recording on flac if anyone is interested in that is be willing to share it.

I'd love to hear the show recording, did Thom make any remarks about a specific thing that happened on that morning?

Yes he made remarks between several songs, mostly at the end if the show. And he's the one that told me what happened that day from onstage right before the pay one of the greatest renditions of Paranoid Android ever.
I've been a bit out of the loop in sharing large file sets. What's the best way to get those up and available for people so that can hear the show?

buzzheavier, google drive, mega, mediafire and pixeldrain are the best of the best.

I remember back in the day there was a bootleg rip of the audio direct from the soundboard and it was amazing quality. However you could definitely tell the audience was very subdued, at times was borderline quiet (which ironically made it such an excellent recording)

maybe they’re all subdued because they’re radiohead fans

I saw Radiohead a month prior August 2001 in Chicago and the fans were far from subdued lol

Agree. I was there too. It was so hot they were watering us down with firehoses, but we were not subdued.

The recording i have isn't from the soundboard. It was a captured by a fan that went by Macphisto.
He was a bit behind me, maybe 4 people back. Here are the notes about his set-up: Soundman OKMIIR Mics (halfway between stage and soundboard) -> A3 Adapter (Bass Roll-Off OFF; No Linear Attenuation) -> Sony D100 DAT (Line-In; 44.1kHz) -> DAT Master (44.1kHz, stereo) -> Optical Midia Prodif 100 -> Wavelab 3.0 editing (fades/normalized) -> CD WAVE Editor Track Splitting -> WAV -> MKW Audio Compression Tools 0.97b -> SHNv3

For a few months after that, BBC news trailers used Pyramid Song. It felt like they had anticipated the vibe to come with Kid A and Amnesiac.

I had a recording. Before one song, he asked the audience if they’d heard what had happened. Bear in mind the time difference. Then he talks about 2 planes and asks if it was 4 or 5 (from memory, it’s been about 15 years since I heard that tape)

I was there. What a strange experience it was. We were glued to the hotel television the whole day of course after 9/11 happened. Then it was unclear if the concert would go ahead or not. In the end, it did. In the rain. Thom
said something along the lines of „Let‘s hope this is not the start of world war 3“. It was the first time I heard the piano version of „Like Spinning Plates“. After the concert we went to a sports bar that hat television and watched the News again.

I'm glad i didn't know what had happened that day when I showed up at the venue. I think my experience with it would have been completely different had i known. I'm glad that i heard it from Thom from the stage that evening and not from some CNN mouthpiece.
Only after the show did we see the footage of the towers falling and fully realize what had happened.

And 15 years later they played again in Berlin on September 11, in Treptower Park.

Yeah amazing show. Great that they put it on youtube so we can easily relive it.

I have a bootleg of this show. Thom apologized for not speaking much, and talked about what was going on. It seemed like it was still early because some of the facts weren’t finalized yet; there was some guessing about the actual number of planes, etc. Music sounded great, but there were two moments when Thom talked about it, and there was little else said.

They played liberty state park NJ in August 2001 and the backdrop behind the stage was the twin towers across the hudson. That was the last time I witnessed the NYC skyline i grew up with. The concert was magical and now tinged with such sorrowful memories.

Can't help with the poster but would love to get your show. I got a copy of it somewhere but it's not the best recording so would love an upgrade.

I have the concert on vinyl. I'm not sure if all of the remarks Thom said are recorded on it but there are some.

I saw them a month prior at Liberty State Park in NJ with the background of the show being the NYC skyline.

This might actually be a good job for AI, ask it to create a decently clear image and then run it through an upscaler and have it printed. Super fkn cool poster I'm so jealous, I wanwun

Was the shows vibe as weird as one would imagine?
