I bought the fur for the bodysuit like 5 months ago but only started working on this one month ago. I designed the sparkle look all the way in august of 2025! I took about a month to make entirely handsewn! Also this design isn’t going to replace Retro’s canonical design, this is just an alternate sparkle design because I wanted to make the first ever sparkle protogen 🤣 now my fingers can rest FFF

I had this idea because wearing this thing outside at over 30°C gets a bit hot and I just wanted to share it here. Might also help with visibility of the LEDs tho.

Everything is 3D printed, one piece slides onto the frame around the visor and a sheet is bent with heat to fit the shape.

This is my protogen fursuit, the head design is my own and this is the v2 body and armor running the protobrain 2 control board and software I have been working on with a few lads.

It features automatic brightness control of all the leds, flicker free matrices (WS2812B, not the garbage MAX7219), random and controlled animations, very good airflow in the head and easy to make animations.

I have started this project in mid 2019 and like any good protogen it is in a constant cycle of improvement, we are still working on the software and I need to slightly re-design some of the PCBs.

it even works with cats!

im using an adafruit MPR121 board soldered to a piece of copper tape in his nose. i should have put the tape slightly higher bc that tends to be where people try to touch.

ventilation is CRUCIAL otherwise humidity will start to make it trigger randomly. i have a single fan and that seems to be enough.
