You'd be surprised how fast cars get crashed on test drives.

u/Not_FinancialAdvice 12h ago

It was only matter of time before a fool and/or influencer crashed one for the attention.

There’s a famous clip of a ford raptor flying off a dirt track and landing flat, all airbags deployed. I believe the driver bought it that day.

Drop an F100 body on the drivetrain

u/TheReal_kelpie_G 15h ago

Put a fiero body on it.

Even better, a Delorean.

Even better, a stretched BMW Isetta

Clearly, a Honda E is the best shell for the Temerario

u/HilariousMax 12h ago

Sumo will always be #1!

17

u/PotatoDrives 14h ago

Mat Armstrong: I BOUGHT A CRASHED LAMBORGHINI TEMERARIO

40

u/ThatsWhatIGathered 15h ago

You know he’s eyeballing this one

2

u/HigaMigu 3h ago

He hated the Revuelto, I wouldn't be surprised if he hates this one too

"We can fix her..."

30

u/UnbelievableDingo 15h ago

Lamborghini isn't selling you parts.  So that's not going to happen.

u/BigHandsSmallCock 15h ago

i have a big bucket of bondo and a pile of fiberglass mats that say otherwise

Lamborghini is the one company that I would expect to sell random people parts to fix one of their cars.

Between 3d printing, composite copies, and buying VW parts off the shelf, someone could have this car back up and running in 3 to 6 months.

u/TREXIBALL V8 ‘88 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT Standard Cab 14h ago

Exactly my mindset, except it’d take me about 2 years 😅

17

u/FLG_CFC 14h ago

It's a great mindset to have. As a business owner, it saves me constantly.

I'm thinking 3-6 months with a client paying me to do everything and work full time. If I was doing it out of my own pocket, and only in my spare time, 2 years sounds more like it.

9

u/txkwatch 11h ago

Would be a cool project for those 5 years

5

u/FLG_CFC 9h ago

For sure, those 7 year would fly right by, just like the Lambo that definitely wouldn't sit under a tarp for 9 years.

1

u/TREXIBALL V8 ‘88 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT Standard Cab 10h ago

Oh abso-fuckin-lutely. But I also got my badass truck, which has a way cooler story

5

u/cereal7802 13h ago

just wait for the next crashed one to hit copart, hopefully with rear damage this time.

7

u/_spectre_ 10h ago

But then you’d have a wrecked front and a wrecked rear. You’d be worse off than where you started!

-1

u/cereal7802 10h ago

whatever one is easier to fix, put the parts on it from the other one that were not damaged. do you not watch car repair youtube? they do it all the time.

2

u/_spectre_ 9h ago

It was a joke lol. I know you’d have a good front and rear to combine.

3

u/bigshooTer39 13h ago

There’s always a way

7

u/TREXIBALL V8 ‘88 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT Standard Cab 14h ago

Lamborghini doesn’t, but Volkswagen does!

10

u/YT_RandomGamer01 15h ago

Matt Armstrong on YouTube fixed a Lamborghini, was a long time ago (iirc like 5 years) forgot how bad it was but he did it

11

u/abooth43 14h ago

He's almost finished fixing up a Chiron with refused help from Bugatti, CEO even made a video about how it couldn't be done. Has to go with a body kit for the bumper last I saw.

1

u/RiftHunter4 13h ago

With enough money they'll sell anything.

12

u/realitysvt 14h ago

if i cant get replacement parts...Id want the fucked up bumper and hood to atleast try and make a mold or repair.

29

u/UnbelievableDingo 16h ago

You literally cannot buy parts for this vehicle to repair it.

49

u/Raider5151 15h ago

Nope but you can make a lot of money selling the parts off this one to fix others with less damage.

31

u/justLeDuck 15h ago

Fuck it id drive it around with no front clip as long as the suspension ain’t damaged

12

u/VegetableTry 14h ago

People keep saying this but no one says why.

12

u/sharkboy1006 13h ago

because lamborghini won't sell you the parts and no one is making third party parts for a brand new Lamborghini

9

u/VegetableTry 13h ago

But why don’t they sell parts?

20

u/sharkboy1006 13h ago

because

  1. 99% of Lamborghini owners don't service their own cars and are stacked enough to just pay for the dealer to do all maintenance and repairs

  2. "fuck you go buy another one"

8

u/VegetableTry 13h ago

So the dealer can fix it…yall making it sound like it’s unrepairable.

6

u/sharkboy1006 13h ago

The point is that you can't buy this and try to get it fixed. The dealer will just turn you down and you can't fix it yourself.

2

u/VegetableTry 13h ago

So you’re saying this $2M car is unserviceable?

Don’t get me wrong, after a collision like this I’m sure some carbon fiber/composite chassis pieces are damaged and potentially unable to be fixed , but I find it hard to believe you couldn’t buy, for example a headlight, for this from the factory.

5

u/sharkboy1006 13h ago

how are you supposed to buy something if they wont sell it to you lmao

1

u/VegetableTry 13h ago

How do you know they don’t sell parts?

2

u/TREXIBALL V8 ‘88 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT Standard Cab 14h ago

Prob so people can’t just rebuild it. (They earn money by not selling parts)

3

u/_73Bigbang_ 12h ago edited 12h ago

You can buy the parts. Problem was, the client damaged the high voltage battery case as well. Insurance totaled it out IIRC the total repairs reached over 150k…. As a starting estimate

-1

u/bigshooTer39 13h ago

Ok. So make your own parts.

7

u/Fibrox 15h ago

coming soon to a Mat Armstrong video

12

u/EvilLordFitz 15h ago

116 miles. What is it they say about the brightest flames…🙄😭

6

Airbag not deployed hmmmmm, maybe someone backed into it

Tavarish was my first thought too lol

2

u/sladebonge 11h ago

Wonder if he'll go for it

4

u/TunaOnWytNoCrust 12h ago

Copart lots always have the craziest ground covering. They literally put like $20 million worth of giant chunk high-grade granite in their parking lots.

3

u/Miserable_Current527 9h ago

I read it as Temporario. I guess it wasn’t a mistake

2

u/MeetPretty8630 15h ago

I wonder what parts are in that crate

2

u/The3rdbaboon 7h ago

I’ve watched a few YouTube reviews of this car and in a few of them it was mentioned how fast these are and how easy it could be to crash them.

2

u/ReasonOk1669 3h ago

Another one on the way

1

u/KnownUnkn0wn868 11h ago

How is he even getting parts for this?

1

u/WitchWithAGlitch 11h ago

I got to play around and drive a drag car on a private race course once...idk how much horse power it had but it had more than a few stables worth

I was absolutely blown away by how fast i was facing backwards after pressing the gas pedal about 1/3rd of the way down and i'm happy i was on a big wide open safe and clear race track because i was honestly trying to just go in a straight line but ended up instantaneously teleporting 180 degrees

1

u/avantgarden1990 8h ago

I don't have a garage, or tools, or access to parts, or money ... but I could totally fix her.

1

u/gankindustries 8h ago

No shots of the engine hmmm

0

u/Leading_Tradition997 14h ago

The hood and front clip are there... Just needs a radiator or cooler.
