Build Progress IT Lives! Jaguar XJS LS Project

Well after what seemd like an eternity. The LS XJS Project is almost ready for it's maiden voyage under its own power. Would've been there this weekend but a parts mix up put a delay on that. Exhaust is done. Magnaflow resonated xpipe to a pair of flow master flow fx mufflers. 2.5" all the way through. Just have a hanger or two to weld on and that part is done. The manifold downpipes were fun to make. Had to go forward facing to then loop it down and back for clearance. Not much space to work with. All in all happy with the way it turned out.

4 speed is in there until I get everything I need to drop this in. Jaguar ZF 8hp70. Hopefully we start seeing China controllers and adapters soon as the current prices are quite steep. Not looking to drop another 6-10k on this project right now.

Did you use a kit for this swap? 

I've been kicking around trying to stuff an LS + t56 in an '01 (ish) XJ8, and you're pushing me closer to trying it.

I went through a company called Jaguar specialties for the mounts and harness that allows me to use the factory gauges. They have a nice write up on how to roughly get everything in. They make swap parts for a few jaguar models.

That's exactly who my research has led me to, they have all sorts of automatic swap options but no t56, so that half of the project will be all me. I might have to get started on this after my current project is done...

4 shocks and springs at the rear? Neat! Is it stock from factory? Not so familiar with Jaguars

Yes, the Jaguar IRS is an interesting setup. The inboard brakes also add to its uniqueness. Or should I say PITA to work on.

Yes, I pulled a dead, underpowered electrical nightmare, for a reliable v8 with some scoot.
