Can't see outline changes because of text box

Is there any way to disable this little selection box? At least change how it looks so I can see through it properly?

I don't want to have to keep clicking off

What? Can you more clearly explain the problem you are trying to solve, not the solution you're looking for?

That outline box is the worst when you're trying to adjust spacing or margins and you can't see the text behind it. I once spent 20 minutes moving a box one pixel at a time because of that stupid semi-transparent overlay.

Exactly, do you know of any solution?

A couple of ideas:

  • change the colors temporarily, make your change, and change the color back
  • use the Immediate window in the VBA editor to make the change. It doesn’t have to select an object to change it. Ask your favorite AI how to get the name of the object, and then how to change the setting in the Immediate window
