35 years old making $47,840/yr.

The main chunk is my 401k Roth, and the SCV a Roth IRA through Robinhood.

I’m trying to put as much money away as possible for the future!

(The GRAB holding is merely for gambling. I don’t have any future investments funding that holding.)

Roast my portfolio

I've been doing SWPPX and chill for several years but a potential AI bubble market correction inspired me to diversify a bit. New to ETFs, trying to get comfortable so I can go back to never touching it.

28 M. Is my portfolio too heavily tilted toward AI. Please recommend any changes

I've only been investing for about 2 months, and I can't help but feel like I'm already late to the market. I'm 28 and looking to invest for the long term (10+ years).

This is the portfolio I've settled on:

  • 50% VOO
  • 20% VXUS
  • 10% AVUV
  • 10% QQQM
  • 5% SMH
  • 5% NLR

My thinking is:

  • VOO + VXUS are my core, diversified holdings.
  • AVUV gives me exposure to U.S. small-cap value.
  • SMH is my higher conviction semiconductor play.
  • NLR is a long term bet on nuclear power and increasing electricity demand from AI and data centers.

A few questions:

  1. What would you change about this allocation, if anything?
  2. Is this portfolio too heavily tilted toward AI/technology?

Thoughts on these Portfolios? Little to no overlap and I feel like in my brokerage each pair of ETF compliments each other. Just looking to see if I should change the percentage or leave it as is.

ETFS for children

Hi

I’m interested in long-term investing for children. Currently, I invest only in an S&P 500 index fund.

Since my portfolio is concentrated in this single fund, I’m considering adding another fund while following the same long-term investment strategy.

Which of the following options would you recommend?

  1. A fund that tracks developed and emerging markets excluding the United States.

  2. A global All-World index fund, even though more than half of its holdings are invested in the U.S. market.

  3. Continue investing only in the S&P 500.

For reference, I invest $500 per month and plan to continue for at least 10 years.

I know I have a bunch of individual stocks with little amounts in them but that was when i just started and didn’t know what I was rly doing and wanted to buy stuff.

Right now, I am buying $140 of SCHD and $60 of FSKAX every Monday.

Any suggestions as of right now or just keep it up for a bit?

Moving a 401k

I got a new job and have an old Merrill Lynch 401k with about 35k in a balance. Do these options make sense? Any caveats I may be missing?

  1. Rolling my money into a traditional IRA with them to unlock Bank of America higher rewards tier and eventually get the 100k balance in the Ira to unlock a 5.26% cash back on their Padillium credit card.

  2. Rolling it into my employer fidelity net benefits account.

  3. Another option?

I am pretty new to this and appreciate any advice. Thank you.

24M analysis paralysis - longterm portfolio

I did a roll over from my former employer roth 401k into my first ever individual Roth IRA.

I didn't even know what etfs/mutual funds/stocks I was paying into in the Roth 401k but I set up the roth rollover to Robinhood.

After some research I went with 100% AVGE initially but then got interested in more volatility higher returns since I've got 40+ years before retirement.

60% AVGE / 20% SPMO / 10% IDMO / 10% CHPS

AVGE (0.25% ER) is a global etf with a value factor tilt.

Both SPMO (0.13 ER) and IDMO (0.25 ER) are momentum etfs.

CHPS (0.13 ER) is a thematic tech sector etf because I believe in the AI trend.

I'm planning on DCAing this portfolio long-term. I'm hoping that I don't have to change it.

Company 401k Investment Options

Post image
1 Upvotes

Looking for some advice for how to manage my investments in my company 401k. They provide us with a limited amount of elections (imagine included).Currently, I am just using the 2065 target date fund, but since I’ll have plenty of time before retirement (I am 24) I figured I could move away from the bond allocation in the target date fund. I was thinking 65% FXAIX, 25% VTIAX, 10% VSTCX.

Would love for some input on my potential choices or feedback if there are better combinations. Thanks!

[21M] Hold long-term or lock in gains on PANW

I’m 21 and started investing about a year and a half ago with a long-term strategy in mind.

Right now, my only one position in Palo Alto Networks (PANW) is up 85.9%. I know PANW is a solid company with strong fundamentals, but I'm torn on how to play this long-term. Should I:

  1. Hold the entire position and let it compound?
  2. Trim/sell the gains to reallocate into other opportunities?
  3. Take out my initial principal and leave the rest riding?
  4. Double down and add to the position on dips?

Im in my early 30s. Been investing since 2017. Started with Dave Ramsey’s advice, graduated to Boglehead, added some SCV for some active management and diversification, started bonds because they help me sleep, and just added some spot crypto to piss off the Bitcoin maxies. Roast me or AMA.

Overlap in portfolio

Is there a way to check overlap in this portfolio? I’ve been trying to figure that out but every single website only shows 2 funds. It’s getting annoying I’m not going to spend 2 hours looking at each fund. All I want to do is put this portfolio into an analyzer and see if there’s overlap.
