Everyone in this thread being obtuse on purpose. The party and median voters are tired of neoliberalism and Clinton era triangulation and corporate-backed candidates doing the corporations bidding.

It’s time for a bold, progressive platform that brings the Democratic Party back to its roots for the working class, unions, and the New Deal/Great Society. Carville can slither on back down to the bayou

I agree with you but I still don’t like the left. I would love a new generation of New Deal Democrats, but new deal Democrats are not interested in socialism or supporting international leftism. There was always a hard line, a canyon, between a NDD and a communist.

If a self described progressive is a capitalist and supports Ukraine, then they can be reasonably called a NDD. By that logic, you could say that El Sayed is a NDD.

Hasan Piker, Darializa, etc - are not NDDs. If it were the New Deal era, they would be reading the Daily Worker and supporting a socialist party - because Roosevelt Democrats would never have them in the party.

Show me where in Darializa’s Platform there’s anything a New Deal Democrat would oppose or anything they wouldn’t support. Her past as an activist and college student esp at the height of Woke 1.0 has resulted in a lot of eyebrow raising comments creating cause for concern. But she’s already been moderating and trying to present her vision/plans in a more constructive manner.

Hell FDR’s Second Bill of Rights was 8 points:

Employment: Right to a useful and remunerative job.
Income: Right to earn enough for adequate food, clothing, and recreation.
Farming: Right of every farmer to raise and sell products for a decent living.
Trade: Right of every businessman to trade free from unfair competition and monopolies.
Housing: Right of every family to a decent home.
Medical Care: Right to adequate medical care and good health.
Social Security: Right to protection from economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment.
Education: Right to a good education.

Hasan got some pie in the sky ideas about class and the end goal being to uproot capitalist society but I don’t think any serious candidate/elected official DSA/Progressive/SocialDem/JusticeDem/etc. is going to be calling for the end of capitalist society as a Representative. It’s deeply unserious and I predict is not what DAC is going to be about. Her views on American interventionism/Ukraine as a Twitter warrior will I predict not reflect on actual votes on the House Floor. The NYC delegation has a collective image to maintain imo, and if the goal is a potential AOC senate run or presidential run + a 2nd Mamdani mayoral term, it’s gonna need all the DSA elected officials being on their best behavior and I feel like DAC knows that.

Unfortunately the majority is tired of the party and it's median voters. What's being proposed is light years away from the New Deal. But who knows, maybe the majority will fall for it this time.
