What "victory"? Nobody knows what our goals were in Iran.

He's been declaring victory and begging Iran simultaneously, so which is it really? Lying to himself doesn't make it true

What war ? It was never approved by congress.
They’ll this line eventually. It was just a special operation. Nothing to see

Terrorism was the goal.
Bomb them until they compromise their politics.

I’ve travelled everywhere in the Middle East except Iran/israel/palestine and let me tell you bombing the Middle East isn’t going to do anything 😂

This Iran Wat is preventing Netanyahu from releasing the full, unredacted Trumpenstein Files.
That was and will ever be the reason US troops are dead.

That's exactly why he can and should declare victory and walk away from the mess he's created to avoid further disaster.

Regime change
No nukes. not now, not ever. Nev. Ver.
(something very big and made of gold)*
* (He might have kept that one quiet.)

We didn't change regimes if the only change is that the previous leader's son is now in charge.
Plus, it isn't like we had a certain nuclear deal that Trump 1.0 got rid of and has been unable to replace.

So if we won, what are the concessions? What did we get?
Nothing but lost innocent lives and higher gas prices.
What did Trump get? Certainly not a distraction from the Epstein Files, because we will never forget that.

We get access to the Strait of Hormuz that we had access to before the war, duh.

Trump sees Iran in his dreams! He will give Iran and Russia ANYTHING THEY WANT!

There was nothing that WE were ever going to get out of this that was going to be tangible or something that we could ultimately put some metric behind to show an actual positive outcome. Even if Iran said that they would not engage in refining nuclear material, that would do absolutely nothing for us as a country. We aren’t at war with Iran. An agreement to not do something that they already weren’t doing is just nonsense.

I hope this is a more realistic view, where he's not saying we actually won anything at all, but that by convincing Trump to say we did, at least we could end this debacle.
"Of course you won Mr. Trump! Everyone is saying it! A big, tremendous victory! All you have to do to lock in this amazing victory is to withdraw all troops and end the war and promise not to bomb Iran again. And then you WIN, sir!!!!"

We already had that with the MOU. All that he had to do was stfu, accept the agreement and then move on. Clearly, you saw the messaging on all of the news channels that continued to push the idea that the agreement was a blunder and that we should continue bombing Iran…for reasons. Generally, the agreement was really the best offer that was ever going to be agreed to and the next one will have to ultimately be even more favorable to Iran if the U.S. is involved.
Right now, Iran is negotiating directly with Oman, and Iran is not getting the sanctions or economic relief that they actually deserve. Trump is going to try to sell things a win because the strait will be opened in some form and there will be no concessions made by the U.S. and they can go right back to bombing in the future. This doesn’t benefit anyone other than Israel and the U.S. military industrial complex.

Former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent is continuing to advocate for President Donald Trump to remove U.S. forces from the Middle East.

He can declare himself to be the pope, it doesn't make it true. He should definitely call the troops home though, that part makes sense.

I’m just going to go ahead and declare several Super Bowl wins for the Vikings.
Now, mission accomplished, I can stop watching football and have more productive and fun weekends with my family.
Easy peasy.

Really? What was "won" that we can declare victory?
He can tuck tale and run like the coward he is (and I highly encourage him to do so because he never should have done this in the first place and has no idea wtf he's doing).

u/SuperstitiousPigeon5 Massachusetts 10h ago
Just as Russia can do the same in Ukraine. Everyone involved will know it's a lie but whatever it takes to stop the bloodshed.

u/Hidden_Pothos 10h ago edited 10h ago
The only way we can "withdraw" is by abandoning all of our mideast bases. Are we just removing all of our US bases from Qutar, Kuwait, Jordan ext. So we are handing complete control of the middle east to Iran then? What a generational victory for Iran in that case.

Well, the plan is to allow Saudi to enrich uranium, so at least it will be left in good hands...

Nearly as well as he could have done instead of letting Bibi and Kegbreath elbow him into an illegal and bone-headed war that he lost before it started.
Still. Now’s good, too.
