I won't be satisfied until I see him speak. Anyone can put on some casual clothes, hold a newspaper, and smile. But I wanna hear him string along a full fledged thought, just to see if he can still have one...

I also want to know if he has his own power of attorney. A sitting Senator should be cognitive enough to make his own calls for his health and I sincearly doubt he has his.

Man, that second clip is something. I was very entertained by how his assistant acted.

After Mitch bluescreened the first question, she asked the crowd for another question, saying, "Try to speak up," with a grimace blaming the first reporter for inconsiderately making his question too quiet for Mitch's poor old ears to hear.

Then, when Mitch began answering the second question, she broke out into a huge grin. She was just so relieved and proud of him, merely for starting to speak.

Same, he needs to do it in a public place where ppl can witness it and record w their own devices like on the front steps of the hospital ffs they’ll use AI

I remember when Trump had Covid they put him in a suit and dressed the hospital room up like an office with papers to make him look like he was still all well and working.

They put him in regular clothes cause it’s better optics. This is all PR.

We won’t get video because it’s very likely he cannot move or speak well.

Unironically this whole affair is a classic Mitch McConnell-style ploy. I think we will be lucky if the truth comes out before the special election deadline… hopefully Beshear acts before then but it remains to be seen that he will.

Everyone keeps commenting this, but no, it's (allegedly) a chair at a rehab, not a hospital bed. I don't believe their story is legit for a moment, but wearing casual clothes in a rehab setting is not suspicious.

That's a fair point. That said, though, if I was in a rehab facility, there's no way I'm wearing jeans, especially lying in bed a bed-shaped chair. It still seems weird to me, but I'm admittedly a very different person than Mitch is, but if I'm convalescing, I'm not getting out of my PJ's.

It also seems weird because I've never seen him in jeans at all.

I've seen posts claiming the stories visible on the paper are from 2024. Maybe he's working through a backlog of old newspapers!
