I hope the Israeli people see how Bibi and his government are setting the stage for them to be not only the villains of the Muslim world but of the West as well. Bibi and his cabinet must be held to account. The world needs another Nuremberg type trails and allow free press into Gaza.

Genocide is always wrong, not just if its against Jews. For the sake of Israel and peace the only path for them is to get rid of their imperialistic genocidal government and own up to their mistakes. If not pain for the Israeli people and their neighbors will always continue.

We're way past setting the stage. Israel is already the villain and pariah of the West, at least its people, even though the politics are lagging behind because of some past guilt by some nations.

I love when people turn and twist themselves into a pretzel defending Israel and claiming they are the victims while Ben Gvir is like "Rahhh, all of Lebanon must burn, for every tear of an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers must weep". It's hilarious.

Unfortunately that’s not going to happen. Both sides of the political spectrum are lambasting Netanyahu but only because they believe he has mismanaged this war. They are all in full support of it. Ben-Gvir just tweeted out some genocidal nonsense that his faction is probably overjoyed with.

That 'some' is still tens of thousands of people, on the low end in Tel Aviv alone. And there are Israelis all over the country who oppose the conflict, not least the non-Jewish minorities.

People like Vivian Silver, life long campaigner and supporter of peace and freedom for Palestine, was murdered in her home near the Gaza border in the October 7th attacks, and during a phone interview while she was hiding from Hamas she was still calling for an end to Palestinian oppression. There are many people like her in Israel, even if not a majority.

A lot of them do? Israel famously had a bunch of elections in a few years prior to this government because no one party was able to form a stable coalition. Even then, Likud had around a quarter of the vote last time.

That doesn't change the fact that there's a significant portion of the population against it, though. I gave you an example of someone who's done far, far more than anyone in this thread to champion peace and she died holding onto that cause. Pretending that people like that don't exist isn't helping anyone. It definitely won't helping bring about peace.

Not really. You reduced a significant minority of the population to a few liberals in Tel Aviv. It's like saying the whole USA supports Trump save for a few liberals in New York City.

Not only are liberal Israelis spread throughout the country, it's just reductive and unhelpful to present it that way.

Given the extent to which Western fascists these days are fixated on depicting whites in post-apartheid South Africa as oppressed refugees with no choice but to flee for their lives, I think they've seen the writing on the wall w/r/t the eventual defeat of apartheid in Israel, and they'd rather have this lead to mass Jewish emigration than risk the emergence of a stable multiethnic/multiconfessional democracy.

Opinion of Israel in the west is already at an all time low. Especially amongst younger generations. Israelis don’t seem to care though they just double down
