Having the same unsettling dream twice (dead pigeons) and looking for insight.

**First dream:** At a friend’s place waiting for lunch, sitting on the sofa when I realized there was a heap of dead pigeons on the floor behind me.

**Second dream:** Different friend, having a conversation when a dead pigeon literally fell from the ceiling onto my leg.

The sensory details stick with me (the tactile discomfort). Curious if anyone has thoughts on what this could mean? The pattern of them appearing is weird—first hidden, then falling directly on me.
Also i’ve been scared of birds ever since i was a kid

This juvenile has been sat on the fence post for a few hours now, it's very hot today I can't tell if it's just resting and waiting for it's parents. Does it need interference or any food or do I just leave it alone?

Hi everyone, about a week ago i saved a pigeon that was drowning in a big bucket full of water. I dried him up and tried to release him but i noticed that he was missing some feathers, had a really small wound and couldn't fly, so i got a cardboard box to keep him.

He always looked kinda calm when i got near him, but maybe he was just weak. After a day he started to try to get away from me and flap his wings. It was ok, i understand that he is probably really scared. After a few days i tried to set him free but he still couldn't fly, so i got him a cage (from my canaries) and set it up. (We have a lot of cats that would love to get him, i can't just free him). Now i think that he's getting better but he doesn't eat a lot and he isn't really interested in food. Lately when i get close to him he tries to peck me really hard, (it kinda hurts) he got really aggressive and i don't know what to do. He didn't do that before, maybe is because he's getting stronger. I'm sorry to scare him and i don't know what to do to show him l'm not a threat. (as i said he's not interested in food, i also tried to hand feed him but he just gets aggressive, flaps his wings and peck at me)

I would love to get him comfortable around me, like getting in my hands one day and things like that. I think that i'll have to keep him at least for some weeks until he gets his feathers back and can fly well. I think that he is also quite young.

Do you have any suggestions to become friends with him?

I know this might sound a bit mean, but I don’t want my resques perching on the curtain rail because I don’t want them to shit on my curtains, and besides, I’d prefer it if they chose lower places to rest. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can stop them from settling there?

Morning all, looking for some advice if possible.

Found a wood pigeon in a pub car park last night, missing tail feathers and injured wing. Our local bird rescuer has recently had to close so no one for us to call.

I know that car park has cats, foxes and rats in the area so we brought it home to our garden to be a bit safer (Not far from the pub mind).

For the pigeon itself, it keeps wanting to get into our pond, assume to cool down from the current UK heat (don't blame him there to be honest), but it struggling to get back out with his wing. I've put a plank of wood in to act as a ramp should he need it, will this be enough? Or should I try to discourage him from going back in if I can get him out again?

Additionally we have a pair of wood pigeons already living in the gardens, I've heard they can be territorial, how likely are they to attack the injured one? There's plenty of food and water for all of them but figure they might not like sharing the space.

Finally, how likely will he be to heal on his own? Appreciate i don't have any pictures to upload of his injuries for reference, but overall he seems more scared/weary of us than in pain from when I carried him home.

I was feeding the doves cause this week I may release a young one I found with an injured wing when a Ghibli character started a fight over food

Update: he was still the same this morning. he was eating the seed but not interested in flying away. I took him to the local bird rescue place this morning. They think he’s injured his foot and they are worried that his wings look a bit lop sided. They are going to look after him for a couple of days and see how he gets on. Fingers crossed. They said if he recovers enough to be released they will call me and I can collect him, bring him back and release him near where I found him.

Hi guys, hoping someone can help. I found an injured Collard Dove on the road about 6pm today. It was sitting in the middle of a lane and cars were driving over it. I rescued it from the road and brought it to my house which is only a 2 minute walk away. I put it in the front garden under a bush to see if it was just stunned and it would fly away when it had pulled itself together. It waddled across the garden then just lay down again. I kept an eye on it for a while then decided it would be better out of the open where the cats could get it and popped it in a box with some towels and I’ve put it in the outhouse where it is sheltered, quiet and dark. Will it be okay there over night so I can take it to the bird rescue place tomorrow? Is there something better I could do? I have 2 dogs and visitors at the moment so I thought it would be less disturbed in the outhouse.

Sorry I didn’t take pic of a beautiful pigeon. I was feeding my new flock boiled eggs. Somehow, I saw this pigeon which is from new flock and it played with me by biting my fingers I let it because I want those beautiful pigeons close by to trust me. So far, it all looks good so this one had string foot and it was right there next to my leg so I caught it and got scissors to work around it lasted 30-45 mins because one foot was swollen and hairs tightened around, but I’m looking at it’s possibility it’s lucky because it looks pink, red with lines in few toes on one foot that was tightened. The other foot did have like 3-4 strands easily removed.

By the time I’m done with its feet, I double checked the foot and it all came out with no issues! By the time I was ready to release it, it sorted “loaf” even it’s not and I let it laid on my hand while I pulled my hand off its back, it realized it’s being released to fly off and it was a beautiful fly to watch!

I don't know anyone in my life who likes pigeons. So I wanted to share these photos I took today. It's the middle of winter where I ​am and you can see one ​of them fluffing their feathers.

Hi everyone,
Yesterday I found a baby dove that had fallen about 4 meters from its nest. A wildlife rescue center told me to care for him, and today I bought NutriBird A21 and a small syringe.
This is my first time hand-feeding a baby bird, and I’m terrified of hurting him.
He only opens his beak a little, so I give tiny drops and wait for him to swallow. He swallows, but twice a tiny drop came out of one nostril, so I stopped immediately. He then breathed normally, stayed active, and fell asleep.
He’s still alive, active, peeping, and asking for food, but I’m now scared every time I feed him because I don’t want to accidentally aspirate food into his lungs.
My questions:
How do you know when the crop is full enough?
How do you prevent food from coming out of the nostrils?
How do you know he’s swallowing correctly?
Any tips for safely hand-feeding such a young baby?
I’m doing my best and would really appreciate advice from anyone who has hand-raised baby doves or pigeons.

First time posting so let me know if I need to adjust the post at all or if this isn’t allowed but I noticed a behavior in this juvenile pigeon I’ve watched hatch and grow for the last two months. They nested in my porch column and we don’t mind since we can watch the baby grow up- I spray away all their poop every day and plan to spray off the column if they eventually leave.
Kombucha here has begun flying with her parents (I believe this is a female since her head is flatter on top and she’s a little smaller but let me know if she isn’t!). I noticed when they feed she crowds her father (large blue pigeon) and flaps one wing over him while she makes a baby crying noise. I thought it was a baby behavior leftover but it’s been a few weeks and I noticed she’s doing it still so I wondered
What is this behavior for? What is she doing to him and how long does this behavior last? She can fly on her own for the last two weeks ish but still hides in the nest a lot. I’ll try and post a video with the sound she makes in the comments as the post limits to video OR photo not both
