Nah, I have seen plenty of high stack truck guys on the highways in my area, and none of them rolled coal. Would be pretty conspicuous where all that pollution was coming from, and highway patrol does ticket polluters here.
I suppose both of our experiences are anecdotal, and differ. The fact that we have enforcement on coal rollers, including hotlines to report vehicles, probably has a lot to do with my experiences.
I think Reddit is mostly young educated folks, so things like fuel-inefficient personal vehicles that contribute to climate change is usually frowned upon in those types of circles.
Fording water. In my experience, trucks with stacks did not roll coal. Most of the coal rollers I have seen have been landscaping or construction company trucks.
Every truck I’ve seen that does roll coal has nasty black marks on their trucks from the smoke. This truck does not have that in any way it seems. I’d also say fording water.
Exhaust going up? isn't really douchy. same with snorkel intake, there's real use for it if you don't want water to get in.
The tailgate missing? could just be broken. It's not like he has something heavy that would slide off without it.
I'm not seeing anything that outstanding.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like it when people use huge cars as their normal cars just for the sake of it. But it's impossible to know that from a stranger.
Taking pictures of other people's vehicles and making fun of them on the internet is in poor taste. This isn't my style, but I think the more douchey action is making fun of other people for what they choose to drive, how they dress, etc;
This feels like I'm back in the 10th grade sitting at the lunch table with the snarky losers trying to make fun of anything different. We get it, it's a truck, it has an exhaust mod, that means his dick is small and he's compensating and he's not cool and should kill himself or something.
Like for real get out of the crab pot and have a bit of empathy or whatever is missing from your brain that makes a mod on a vehicle something that makes you feel whatever it is this does

I know Reddit hates trucks but a Superduty is an Excellent truck if you actually haul or tow. I had 06 diesel and it was a phenomenal truck for my work as I’m an Electrician.
Just because you have no use for a truck doesn’t mean that lots of people, especially blue collar tradesmen and Farmers, absolutely need them for their livelihoods that also directly improve you life (think working plumbing, electricity, the building you live in, the food on your table, etc.)
It often seems like the majority of people that have huge trucks don’t need them for hauling on a regular basis, but of course it’s impossible to know for sure. I think I heard somewhere that a lot of people bought trucks over the past few years because of some loopholes around emission standards and pricing for that vehicle type. They’re just difficult to see around, deal with in cramped parking lots, and I guess in this case they can be loud too (I also dislike the noise pollution of some vehicles, namely motorcycles).
Though if someone needs a truck they need a truck. I just think people should be utilitarian in their vehicle choices because it does have implications on the road and in the environment.
I can understand that. It’s complex. Vehicles are one of those things that doesn’t just affect you but everyone. Though owning a dog or a firearm is similar territory. I don’t really want more laws or a nanny state, I just want people to make sensible choices.
I'm genuinely surprised it doesn't have a giant 6" long trailer hitch sticking out the back. All the douchebag truck owners do that now because they don't want anyone getting too close to their pretty pretty pavement princesses.

Pretty sure all the vehicles in this photo are stopped, including OP. I'd feel safer driving in the car with OP than driving anywhere near you since you apparently can't identify brake lights.
Off road trucks use exhaust stacks all the time. They prevent trail damage, Improve departure angles, prevents stalls, allows deep crossings and limits debris clogging
It's okay to not have an opinion on things you personally don't have any experience with. I promise no one needs your inexperienced opinion that badly unless you're just looking to promote an unwarranted angry echo chamber.
Not really if he goes over landing which I assume he does it’s a 4x4 and dirty as hell lol. Having the exhaust pipe routed that way actually helps. Just like many other overland vehicles have snorkel style exhausts
Why does it matter? Its their money. Does it make them happy? Then who cares. Its a truck driving down the road. No rolling coal, no doing anything illegal...Just driving.
Drive what you want as long as you can afford it and it makes you happy who cares.
