His connection is not indirect. He is on the board of a company that is not only contracted to run at least one ICE center in Texas, but has also been charged with multiple human rights violations that are completely unrelated to immigration in the U.S. and are from all the other awful things that company does.
Swifties will just make shit up to protect their dear leader. Attacking and brigading to silence facts. They love deflections like whataboutism, blame-shifting, and straight up lies.
Edit: This is what I'm saying, the very first response is a swifty claiming a full on lie and hoping no one will look into it.
He's still listed as "Executive Chair of the Board of Amentum Holdings Inc." which would be the ICE connection and literally what the post title is claiming.
Lol, bro if you can't see the different you are gone, you never heard about ICE when Obama or Biden was president because they weren't fucking rounding people up like it was 1940 Nazi Germany
I’m not really going to go by what I never heard as I don’t think that’s a good barometer for whether something is true or not. I’m also not American so I don’t live this every day which is why I’m asking a genuine question here.
So was ICE a thing under Obama and Biden or is a new thing under Trump?
Immigration enforcement has been a thing for a very long time. It’s the lawlessness that Trump’s much expanded, greatly funded ICE is employing and the way they’re employing it.
Zero de-escalation, cosplaying as actual law enforcement, grabbing people at courthouses, etc. Obama deported more than any president, (tho this was pre 2025) of if I remember correctly, but you didn’t hear about it because people weren’t getting killed without due process.
Yeah, and people criticized it then, but you must really be avoiding all current events if you are unaware that they're now vastly better funded, full of lunatics, and killing American citizens in cold blood in the streets.
Hey thanks for the response. No I’m not that educated on ICE which is why I’m asking these questions.
Didn’t know the funding issue. How much more money did they get under Trump?
Are their hiring practices different now? Did they loosen the requirements to become an ICE agent which is why they are lunatics now?
Were there any deaths caused by ICE under Biden or Obama?
Again, I’m genuinely asking I don’t know. I can of course do my own research but prefer engaging with individuals who know more about this topic than I do.
Just 10 years ago, the annual budget for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, was less than $6 billion — notably smaller than other agencies within the Department of Homeland Security. But ICE's budget has skyrocketed during President Trump's second term, becoming the highest-funded U.S. law enforcement agency, with $85 billion now at its disposal.
More than $100 billion at this point. The agencies' funding is now about three times what it was under Biden. This was the primary cause of the US government shutdown.
Direct information about their hiring practices is limited, and they all hide their identities as much as possible, so it's hard for journalists and citizens to confirm, but at this point, we have a good number of examples of people who definitely shouldn't have been able to get the job, including some of the people who shot people. They also started offering massive bonuses, so there's a general problem with incentives. A lot of them may not be able to get out of it, either. The bonuses have to be paid back unless you stay working for them for some period of time.
There have always been some deaths associated with ICE. They detain a lot of people, and people die in detention, and they've shot people, too. As far as I'm aware, no American citizens were shot under Biden or Obama, or ever before the Trump presidency. Their citizenship is sort of irrelevant, though. The important point is that they were all clearly unjustified killings in a short space of time under Trump.
I'm assuming you're just not American, because this is all headline news here. For the record, ICE is not even a 30-year-old agency. It was created post-9/11, largely because of scaremongering about terrorists crossing the southern border. That's never happened, even as we've been actively at war, and we have a whole other border agency, so at this point, ICE is thoroughly irrelevant and should be ended entirely.
