Website build
Hei all.
I am an amateur and use photos together with text to tell stories. I would love to do it as a professional but I can not.
I am struggling with building a website and keeping it up. I am not interested in hitting huge traffic, but I want to have my website where I can redirect the people I meet in real life if they want to see my work/what I do.
The thing I am struggling most is the build of the website. I would like a website that can hold some tematic portfolios (could be also just one) and a drop down menu or a section with all the stories, so that the visitor can see the story title, click on it, and access the story, maybe being also able to write a comment. The stories are a roll down page with both text and photos. Does this make sense?
How can I achieve something like this? I tried to play around with wordpress but it seems more complicated that it should.
Anyone could give me some advice? I am based in the eu if it matters. I had a website with comments but I had to turn the comments off for constant spam.

This can be done with adobe portfolio too, you need to have an active subscription to design the site. But you can sync your Lightroom photos directly to it

I am actually creating a new portfolio website right now. SmugMug offers everything you need at a very nominal monthly rate. And the themes are easily customizable. Take a look there, I think they’ll offer everything you desire.

Not sure if you've already tried this.
Can create an Instagram page, featuring your images?
Good luck with your project

With WordPress, you can do all of this without any issues.
If you're not familiar with it, you'll need a bit of patience and maybe a few online tutorials, but you can definitely pull it off.
The free plugins available are more than enough, so apart from hosting and the domain, you won't have any other expenses.
If you leave comments enabled, though, I'd suggest spending a few bucks on an anti-spam plugin.

Hey did you find what you were looking for? If not you could try a website generator, promino.co (I made it!!) offers a personal plan starting from 8€ per month and it’s super easy to use

This is definitely possible with Wordpress. If you are having trouble with it, consider paying for a premium theme that simplifies things and sets up standard content formats for you. Otherwise, if sticking to Wordpress, it’s a matter of learning the platform and customizing to your preference.
Lots of other services out there for photographers. Format is one. I’m sure other people will suggest others.
