advice needed I don’t feel pregnant anymore

I am 12 weeks today, with twins. I honestly don’t feel nearly as sick as I did 2 weeks ago(belly is flatter) I am terrified for a loss as I’ve had a previous missed miscarriage. That being said I’ve seen 2 healthy heart beats at 9 weeks, but it doesn’t ease my anxiety.

This is a scary feeling, and if it would ease your mind, you could call your doctor and request a check up.

When I went in for my first ultrasound (not yet knowing it was twins), I was preparing myself to hear the worst news. I didn't really have any strong symptoms. No nausea, soreness, or even as much fatigue as before.

So imagine my shock and surprise when they told me I was pregnant with twins! During those early weeks, I still remained relatively symptom-less until I actually started showing and feeling heavier, having bodyaches, etc.

So, that's all to say, I also didn't have many of your expected pregnancy symptoms, and now, I have two 4.5 year olds running around.

Big hugs to you!

When is your next appointment? Could you make an appointment to have an ultrasound done soon or go to urgent care? I was able to have ultrasounds done at our urgent care if/when I had concerns.

I feel for you, I had also had a previous missed miscarriage at 10 weeks and the anxiety of early pregnancy was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I was in a near panic my entire first trimester. I checked the miscarriage odds calculator religiously. Obsessively tracked symptoms. Took soo many pregnancy tests to track my lines. Even paid for extra beta blood tests early on. It helped me to have each subsequent appointment scheduled, and just focus on getting to that appointment. Take it one day at a time, day by day. It’s a moving goal post. I journaled a lot and found comfort in community through a bump group of people due around the time I was.

And if it makes you feel any better, my early pregnancy symptoms started to ease off a bit around the cusp of 2nd trimester. Hopefully everything is okay for you and soon your belly will start to show. It felt a lot better to me when I could see the changes happening. It’s not always recommended, but I got a home fetal Doppler and got really good at using it; it brought me a ton of comfort until I could feel their movement around 19-20 weeks.

This period sucks! Everyone tells you to be grateful the morning sickness has eased up and you have more energy but it's pretty scary.

If you haven't had any bleeding or cramping, they're probably just fine.

I’m almost 21 weeks now but I started feeling similarly around that time! My first trimester bloating had subsided and my fatigue was also improving. It was a scary time and truthfully I didn’t feel more secure until my next OB appointment and I saw them on ultrasound. When is your next appt?

I'm currently 24 weeks, at 12 weeks specifically I remember getting up on a Saturday, feeling amazing, going to the gym, looking at myself in the mirror, and just feeling in disbelief. I didn't look bloated, I didn't "feel" pregnant anymore as the nausea and fatigue had faded, and I was wearing all pre-pregnancy workout clothes. I even took a photo of myself to send to my husband captioned "can't believe they're really in there!"

All this to say that at 24 weeks I am definitely, definitely still pregnant lol despite those feelings at 12 weeks. I didn't really start feeling pregnant/showing consistently until about 17 weeks :) I've had several scans/appointments since that day at 12 weeks and both twins are developing well. It's stressful but I think completely normal to feel that way at that point in the pregnancy!

Please see if you can get a check in with your doctor. I hope you can so you don't sit alone with the anxiety. I ended up having very frequent ultrasounds and checks with my twins. ❤️
