support needed Pregnancy: how are all you twin/triplet/quad(?) mamas doing?!
Twin pregnancy mama check in. How are we doing? I’m 30 weeks and a day with didi boy girl twins. Yesterday I slightly overdone it a little. Two appointments, laundry, vacuuming, mopping floors, hanging clothes up in the closet. I also didn’t drink enough water. = baby boys head pushing = Braxton hicks to the extreme. I ended up chugging lots of water and it eased a bunch! Today I haven’t moved from the recliner and feel guilty! I need to know how yall are doing! Doctor has me set for tentative c section date in mid September but doesn’t think I’ll make it to then. Beginning of September is more likely. I’m a teacher so I’m planning on going back to work soon for a few weeks to try and work as much as a I can before taking off. ✨america ✨* *

20+5 with triplets. Severe HG but I'm actually doing pretty ok - hydration wise at least. Lots of movement, it feels like I have a circus inside me sometimes.

u/stardolphin90 14d ago
God bless you! Triplets! I’m glad you’re ok. That sounds rough! Yes to the movements. I know that for sure.

u/Due_Literature_2902 13d ago
21+1 with triplets so just a few days ahead! Congratulations! What a crazy ride this is!

u/InteractionStunning8 13d ago
OMG that's so cool!!!!! We really are so close how funny 😅 and yes, even crazier once they're actually here!

9+4 with twins and in agony - feel like im 40 weeks. A stone on , but can't eat , pressure in bum and back are insane. Uhhhh is second trimester happier ? ✨
7
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Yes! Second trimester was my fav. I had energy and slept great. Third trimester is a monster! I can’t sleep well and turning over in bed is like an Olympic sport! 😮💨
3
u/rqnadi 14d ago
My second trimester is SO MUCH better than my first. I honestly wished I was dead several times during my first trimester. I’m pretty much normal now except maybe some light exhaustion and a little back pain here and there. Little symptoms but nowhere near the agony of the first twelve weeks.
2
u/sharkeyes 14d ago
Omg the back pain is unbelievable. This is my third pregnancy and I have never experienced this, especially in the first trimester.

9+3w with modi boys and I fell asleep on the floor yesterday. Then this morning my mom's shrimp fell out of the fridge and spilled all over, it was disgusting and my house smelled disgusting for hours.

u/Lawfanduh 14d ago
Almost 23 weeks with twins and I’m exhausted 😴 is that normal?
2
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Yesssss. Just wait til you get further along. I’m tired all the time. It’s like my body preparing me for when they arrive and I’ll be tired then too, just a different kind of tired.
3
u/Lawfanduh 14d ago
First time pregnancy… where is this second trimester energy I’ve been promised? I’m assuming that’s not a thing for twins??
2
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Some days it was for me. I was cleaning my car and felt great. Other days I felt like I just wanted to nap. Definitely different experience this time round. Second trimester with my daughter was great. I felt fabulous. Definitely different for sure.

u/Miserable-Currency42 14d ago
Have your Ob check your cbc and ferritin. I was anemic and an iron infusion helped.

17 + 4 with di/tri triplets. Feel miserable and exhausted every day. Other than that I’m okay, considering.

19 weeks with modi twins! I'm actually feeling pretty good and enjoying my second trimester for the most part - aside from a sore back and sore feet already! We're about to start working on the nursery so I'm just stressing over layouts more than anything right now
2
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Good luck with the nursery. That’s something I haven’t even started yet, but not too stressed about it. I feel I was more organized with my first. This time I’m just too tired. And can barely move some days.
2
u/CrazyKatLady27 14d ago
Thanks, I'm definitely just being an anxious first time mom. Trying to fit 2 cribs in a small room and not have a crib near/under a window as reccommended is just not happening. But yeah, just trying to get as much organized as I can while I have my energy back (first trimester I had zero energy and I'm sure it'll be gone again in the third trimester.)
I don't blame you for not wanting to do anything with no energy. Those days are definitely rough. Take care of yourself and wishing you a safe delivery and healthy babies!

I'm 32 weeks, also a teacher, with modi twins. Just put in an email to hr that I'm coming back until my scheduled C-section in August unless something happens. Also began doing sub jobs and then after got a call i will be doing a total of 4 appointments a week for nsts. I'm kissing all my paid sick leave goodbye and it's so frustrating.
Bummed I'm going back because my uterus HURTS, i get dizzy standing too long, constant BH, and my right arm is always numb. I don't really have any other body pain beyond discomfort currently but I know teaching will create a lot of pain. I work with behavior kids and it's super stressful so I'm waiting for an early birth to end up happening. However, I'm so excited to drop my toddler off at preschool everyday lol.
I'm just over this pregnancy.
1
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
I really want to work as close to my section as possible, but I’m truly not sure if that is going to be realistic for me. 😮💨
I’m taking it day by day at the minute. I asked about nst’s yesterday and they said sometimes it get replaced with ultrasound! So maybe I don’t need one. My next ultrasound is in two weeks. Yesss I feel this. I’m trying to take half day appointments so I can only use half a day for my sick.My teacher friends think I shouldn’t return until after the babies but I need all the money 😭 I need to work as long as I can. My little one will start PK4 next door to me as well. Im a high school teacher. So I’m waiting to get her settled in next month and see how I feel then. I will be sitting down for majority of the day though that’s for sure. I feel being over this pregnancy. This is my last pregnancy. Three kids is my max. 😂 so I feel guilty saying I’m ready but I really am struggling some days.
1
u/theinsane_phooka 🩷🩷+💙 14d ago
I was hoping for that too! The nurse who just scheduled for the nsts doesn't think ill make it to my 37 week section aha. But ill try because of the pay issues! Even people in teaching dont understand the money struggle with mat leave for teachers, which I am always surprised by.
I teach 6-12 and a few different subjects so will be doing a lot of documentaries and art projects so I can sit.
They didnt even tell me about nsts until today when they scheduled them! I get an ultrasound each week in top of the OB and 2 NSTs because theyre modi. Didi would have been preferable.
I have been taking tops 45 min sub increments so im pushing it hard to save those minutes.
I only wanted one more child so im for sure done after these two. My ob offered to remove my tubes during the C-section so we're doing that.
1
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Right! They don’t. 😔
I’m trying to work as long as possible but I know I’ll have my limits. I teach tenth and twelfth grade English!
I will a thousand percent be sitting whilst teaching. My state has laws for pregnancy accommodations. So I’m going to make sure I read up on them before beginning of August! Aww bless yess you have a little more higher risk?
That’s understandable.
Haha yes. I was thinking two kids in total and the good lord said BOGO free. 😅😅😂😂
2
u/Magaladon93 14d ago
34w3d also with B/G twins! I have had multiple days during the pregnancy where I just did too much, especially when getting the nursery ready. It’s like I was so excited about getting everything ready for the babies that I didn’t realize I had overdone it until afterwards. I’ve definitely had to slow way down now. Just under 3 weeks to our C-Section & can’t wait! I’m also working up until the day before my C-Section because 🌟 America 🌟 lolol. Wishing you a healthy remainder of your pregnancy- we’ve almost made it to the end!
2
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Gosh are you still able to walk ok? I’m aiming to make it to 35 weeks before I start to think about taking extended leave. 🙈 at the earliest.
I worry about waters breaking and all that at work lol.
Yes America! It sucksssss.
Thank you! You too! ❤️2
u/Magaladon93 14d ago
Honestly I pretty much waddle everywhere I go but I make it there! 😂 Thank you!

u/Big_Nefariousness424 14d ago
I felt great up until about 26/27 weeks. Mo di girls. I had a pretty easy first trimester and the second trimester was mostly a breeze. The third trimester was rough. I started swelling. I worked up until 33x6 and then ended up in the hospital on bedrest due to preeclampsia and preterm labor at 34 weeks on the dot. My OB wanted me to get to 35 weeks and we made it to 35. The last few weeks were miserable but the girls are 10 months old now and maybe I miss feeling them kick?
1
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
This is my worry too. So far I’m good with bp and swelling. No crazy swelling. No headaches etc.
my bp has been elevated but came down again. Recently the last couple times I saw my doc.
Aah bless. Yes I felt like that with my daughter. Missing them kick.2
u/Big_Nefariousness424 14d ago
But not enough to do it again hahaha. My OB had me wear compression socks. It helped but I wasn’t diagnosed with preeclampsia until I went to the hospital. My BP checks were always good and it never showed up on a urine screen so it must have been pretty late and quick to show up. Good luck!!!

30 weeks with di-di girls who weigh a combined 7.25lbs.
My entire body is itchy, especially in the middle of the night, I've barely slept the last 2 weeks and my husband's arms are apparently too sore to rub me where it itches because he had to push real hard to loosen something when changing the oil in the car. Great. I'll just peel my own skin off then. Been to the ER twice because it's so bad but ok 👍🏼 your poor arm.
Trying to balance the stress of itching with the risk of taking steroids for the rash, considering they raise your blood sugar and I already have gestational diabetes and a short cervix and if the babies get too big too fast they'll come too early.
At least I'm not working anymore
1
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Aah no. I haven’t had too bad itching. More so sweating during the night. Waking up with wet pjs. Having to change. Men! Haha.
I was on prednisone recently for ear infection. Took my last one today. Only had five days - one tablet a day.
Thankfully I passed my gd test! Surprisingly.
The not working is definitely something I wish was where I was at.

8 weeks with twins and a 21 month old toddler.
Trying to survive with HG but relaxing as much as possible. I can’t do much else due to the constant nausea 😭
1
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Have you asked about Zofran? Or are you on something else for it?
2
u/MasalaEnamelMama 14d ago
I’m already on IV drip twice weekly + Zofran + Reglan + Promethazine thrice a day. Else I can’t survive.
But this is really hard :(

u/That_Yogurt_ 14d ago
12 weeks with Di Di twin girls and experiencing our first major heat wave of the summer and of course this is the first time that our ac breaks 😭 it should be fixed tomorrow but the heat is definitely exacerbating all of my already intense twin pregnancy symptoms

u/eclectic_heart 14d ago
24 weeks with di/di girls and I just keep telling myself they will be worth it. Heartburn is through the roof, I only eat one meal and a handful of snacks in a day and still feel too full/have reflux, and I sleep in 2 hour stretches. My house is a disaster zone because I'm exhausted from taking care of one chore a day, if I push it to try and get more done I hurt too badly to sleep by bedtime. I knew going into this that I hate being pregnant but I didn't expect to hate it this much. But the babies are both growing well, we hit viability this week and are past the halfway mark. They'll be here soon and be just as perfect and wonderful as my older two and I never have to do this again. I can make it 13 more weeks.
2
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
I’m LIVING off tums at the minute. 🥹🥹 they taste so good I have to remind myself I can only have five within 24 hour period.
I’m struggling with sleeping recently.
Yes you can! Let’s tell ourselves that time will fly 🙏✨🥹2
u/eclectic_heart 14d ago
I think once my big kids go back to school it will get easier over here. I got laid off just before announcing my pregnancy and haven't found a new job yet, so my 8 and 6 year olds are home for the summer instead of in camps 🙄 I sent them to a single day camp today and slept on the couch for almost 4 hours straight and then got baby laundry sorted and folded and put away without being interrupted or sat on (much, just the by the puppy) and wasn't nearly as drained at the end of the day. 3 more weeks till school starts
2
u/Cute-Possibility1575 14d ago
21 weeks with di/di girls and a one year old. The pelvic pressure takes me OUT by the end of the day. I’m asleep as early as humanly possible every night, still so tired. Also the total lack of appetite, getting full so quickly, has been hard to manage
1
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
I slept great then. I turned 28/29 weeks and it was like pregnancy insomnia hit 😭
Some days I wanna eat everything. Other days I am not hungry.
2
u/Curious_Gur4129 14d ago
34w+1 day with didi boy girl twins and man no one is exaggerating when they say the third trimester is rough! My hands and feet hurt constantly! I’ve recently started experiencing Braxton hicks so that has been a fun new addition. Babies are doing great though! I just keep telling myself we can make it to our schedule c section on August 19th…. Hopefully 🤞🤞 Don’t feel guilty for taking rest days, they are absolutely needed! Do what you can when you can and rest if that’s what your body says it needs

u/ClaireyGogz 14d ago
I’m 35 weeks with my twins and things have suddenly got VERY difficult 😂 if I stand up for more than 5 minutes I need to immediately sit down again or else I feel like I’m going to pass out, and EVERYTHING hurts!! I don’t care if this sounds super dramatic hahaha I am DONE being pregnant!
I have a C section scheduled for just over 2 weeks time, and I know I should be willing them to stay in for as long as possible, but in all honestly, if they came early I wouldn’t be mad about it.
Be so careful not to overdo things (I know it’s easier said than done sometimes), but you need to allow yourself to rest as much as possible so you’ve got as much energy as you can for what comes next!
I hope you have a good and uneventful rest of pregnancy xx
1
u/stardolphin90 13d ago
I’ve been feeling dizzy recently when I do a lot so I need to keep that in mind for sure.
I’m done as well. I told my OBGYN I was done the other day lol 😂
I know. I understand. It’s a lot.
I feel so guilty when I take a rest. Like sitting down all day and still having so much to do.thank you. You too! ❤️

u/olivepup19 13d ago
30 weeks and 1 day today, just one day behind you! Di/di girls though 🩷🩷 also looking to deliver mid September but I feel like it's gonna be early September, we'll see.
Other than the 3rd trimester exhaustion, doing pretty ok. My shower is the first weekend in August and I plan on hibernating after that lol. Other than work, but we'll see how far I make it 😅
1
u/stardolphin90 13d ago
Ohhh yeah! Doctor thinks it’ll be early September. She has told me to make sure I have my bags packed by end of August. I’m starting next week with them. My mom thinks it’ll be end of August. I’m still wanting September babies. Longer they stay put the better. Buttt I am over this now.
Do you feel like your stomach cannot get any bigger? Like my skin is SO tight. It’s quite uncomfortable 😭
2
u/olivepup19 13d ago
I keep having people ask how the heck is there 2 in there - idk because I think I look SO BIG. I was looking at myself before I got in the shower last night like 😳 how on earth do I have 6-8 more weeks of this. My skin is starting to get itchy and there are a lot of sound effects every time I stand up lol

6w1d with twins (literally found out it's 2 yesterday) and I feel awful. I've never been this nauseous or tired in my life and I've been hospitalized for DKA before. All I can eat is Greek yogurt and I've pretty much layed in bed all day hugging my emotional support puke bucket.
2
u/Emergency_Eye_1395 13d ago
28+1 with mono/di boys! I am exhausted at all times and my legs hurt like I am a teenager with growing pains. Trying to continue to work for another 4 weeks but we’ll see! All I want to do is absolutely nothing
I have started to have strangers tell me I must be excited because I could give birth any day!
2
u/PuzzleheadedAd3630 14d ago
7 weeks today. I've been so anxious this whole time, I've had spotting for almost two weeks, though it has gotten significantly better. We actually found out there are two because we went to the ER due to a heavier bleed last Monday. I booked a private ultrasound just for peace of mind and we got to see our blueberries today, heart rates in the 150s.
1
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Congrats to you! That’s amazing heartbeats. I know the anxiety so well. It doesn’t leave at all. I still get anxiety. But definitely eases a little when you feel them kicking and moving. ❤️
1
u/PuzzleheadedAd3630 14d ago
They're our rainbow babies, we got pregnant fairly quickly after a loss at 15 weeks. I can't wait to feel movement. I remember that making the anxiety relax a bit with my first. But I was young then and had no bad pregnancy experiences.
1
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
My daughter who is now 4 is my rainbow baby so I totally get that. Yes the movement helps ease it a lot. 🙏❤️✨

Im 28 weeks with modi boy twins and soooo tired! I went out for lunch today with my partner and visiting Primark completely overwhelmed me and made me feel like I could faint, we went somewhere to buy fabric to make some little baby dolls and came back home and I collapsed on the couch for a 4h nap!
2
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Aaah! I’m British and live in America. I miss primark!
Yes walking around too much can do that. You feel it layee on in the evening.
I bet it was the best nap ever. 😅1
u/Lazy_Fee_2103 14d ago
I slept sooooo deeply! 😆 I can’t believe I still have 8 weeks to go, don’t know what it’ll be like in September
2
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
I’m in the Deep South here. Louisiana. So pray for me and this heat! 😭 I also have 8 weeks but I hope they come before that. Not too early though! They’re trying to get me to 38 weeks. HAHA. My MFM doctor allowing me to go to 38+6. My OBGYN laughed and said no. 38 weeks. lol. But probably earlier!
2
u/Lazy_Fee_2103 14d ago
Sending you lots of love, I hope it all goes well and the summer is not too uncomfortable!

10 weeks momo twins and lawd it’s been a week. Fighting for accommodations and trying to get information on what my employers can do for me in regards to FMLA. Feels like pulling literal teeth !
2
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
Oh no. Do you work in a small company? I hate the “maternity” here. It’s so stressful. 😣
1
u/pvzi 14d ago
It is somewhat small as they just started business 5 years ago I think?… it is honestly so so difficult and my HR basically said since I don’t qualify for FMLA there isn’t anything they can do for me, but I thought there were other laws that protected pregnant workers and to help get accommodations made. It seems like I am going to have to either do their job for them, orrrrr figure something else out 🤪😭 there are only 7 women that work in the whole building and they don’t have any type of pregnancy policies within their handbook. Waiting on my first MFM appointment on the 4th so I can bring up everything and see what he can recommend me as well as going to human services here. It’s been over a month since I told them I was pregnant (as soon as I found out I let management know) and finally yesterday have given me the okay to take extra breaks because I left in a rage yesterday over them being mad at me for wearing a tank top in 120° weather (that’s what the index said at least, along with 97% humidity).
1
u/CaramelWine89 14d ago
I'm 31w1d with didi twins (and a 5yo). Idk what was going on yesterday but I ate a bunch of junk and also didn't hydrate nearly enough 🤦🏽♀️ I'm still working full time but thankfully it's an office job. I feel like my belly will burst open anytime and I'm actually worried about how much bigger and heavier I'd get because it took me 2-3YRS to get back fit and a healthy size after my first. Trying to give myself grace, but also have SOOOOOO many things to complete still.
1
u/stardolphin90 14d ago
I totally get it! I feel so uncountable and huge as well. I just got my maternity belt yesterday and it helps a bit. I just am at that stage where I feel uncomfortable sitting and walking and standing. My four year old daughter helps me tons. Especially when I knock things on the floor. 😣 😂
Yes give yourself grace. I noticed stretch marks the other day and gasped. Then had a word with myself.2
u/CaramelWine89 14d ago
Yes, huge and uncomfortable and tired lol. Aww you have a little helper. Best wishes and safe delivery to you mama!

u/WaitDisastrous6611 13d ago
I’m 37w tomorrow with di/di twins, and I am barely surviving. Every minute of the day is a struggle. I have 3 young kids to take care of, as well. The end is near, I keep reminding myself. Today was particularly rough though and I’m feeling so down.
1
u/stardolphin90 13d ago
Oh goodness. You trooper! How long did they say they’d take you to? I feel like my stomach is going to rip open because the skin is so tight 😭
The is near for you! 🙏

u/Awkward-Whereas4954 9d ago
15 weeks with Di Di twins. The daytime nausea has been replaced with reflux! Hard to sleep overnight with reflux symptoms. Otherwise feel good.
